Canaan responded to my ticket with the same automated text that they only take BTC and no wire transfer. I'm in contact with Ebang to see if they are interested in a $10k order for E9 miners. Its funny, i've been trying to spend 10k for the last week on miner hardware and nobody wants my money  Grin

That is strange; they used to prefer bank over btc, I've always paid in btc and found Avalon to be one of the most reliable companies (up there with Spondoolies). I can only speculate why they are cutting wire transfers (especially if you're in the USA)—maybe issues with monetary fungibility in China, or perhaps a government bureau is making international wires difficult—but these are all guesses. I've read on their twitter recently that they were having an issue with a bank wire but I don't know that's related. Exchanging $10K into BTC may be tricky if you need it asap and you don't have established credit with a credible exchange like Coinbase, but it is probably doable some way or another. Even if you manage it get the amount in btc, it looks like you will still be waiting.

I wouldn't been so disappointed with Canaan if they had just simply told me (within a couple days of my purchase) that they were experiencing a huge influx of orders and that there may be a delay in fulfilling my order. Instead all we got was this pre-scripted comment about "Lily will handle this issue..."

Hi, thanks for your message. Once Steve is in the office he will handle this issue. He is in the office M-F 10Am-6pm Florida Time Zone UTC -5.

Thank you!

reply to my trying to get the BTC payment info for the order I placed on the 8th. Now hopefully 'Steve' will complete the loop so the miner -- and replacement fan for a 721 -- start heading my way...

That's funny to me as I'm Steve in FL, I'll message them again and see if I get the same response  Grin Also, their web site says OUT of STOCK. Shipping Starts August 23.

My order was on the 7th  I beat the price increase  and I am like 714 + 50 to ship = 764

today is the 15th I have not had a reply from them since 8/10  Maybe today as btc has dropped under 4000.

As Donald would say "sad so sad"

Note  I like that line  so I use it here as it applies very well for all of us waiting to hand over money to canaan. Grin

Their whole 180% turn on bank transfers does not make any sense. I have 2 issues, like you mentioned exchanging 10k into BTC is not that easy for me, for the both exchanges I use and trust it would take me some time because I hit the daily limit so it doesnt make any sense. Secondly this is a b2b transfer, I don't want to go explaining to my accountant why I'm using my business account to change into BTC. I'm also sure I would go into the grey legal zone because BTC is simply not an official tender in my country. I know $10k is not the biggest order in the world but for gods sake its not like it's peanuts either. Add to that the standard automatic respons I get to tickets and I can only conclude that I have not so much confidence in their business practices.

Hey guys, I just wanted to drop a question here for you vets with the 741 out there. Is there anyway to tune different voltage offsets for different ASICs on the same controller? I'm having a hard time with 1 of the ASICs as it is running 100% fan on -1 like every day its getting quite annoying.

Whats the difference between the pretty ones that Canaan sells and the $35 amazon one?
Difference is that it has a heavy metal case with Canaan's logo on it. Metal case is much better at dissipating heat from the Pi and yes it does get warm. Check Amazon and you'll see metal Pi cases are around $30 and up. Other than that it of course also comes completely setup with the software pre-loaded on its micro-SD card.

Yeah
I could build a rasp pi 3  with a case a card a power supply wires and sell for 75 to the usa I would make 10 bucks

or you could buy from canaan pay 100 last I looked  still need a power supply and some wires.

dead solid case 13

https://www.amazon.com/Eleduino-Raspberry-Metal-Cooling-Black/dp/B012GPCLR6/ref=sr_1_2?

rasp pi 3     36

https://www.amazon.com/Raspberry-Model-A1-2GHz-64-bit-quad-core/dp/B01CD5VC92/ref=sr_1_1?

micro card 8
https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-16GB-Micro-SDHC-Memory/dp/B004G605OA/ref=sr_1_5?_1_3?

so 57  vs 100

you still need a power supply

this does 2  11 bucks
https://www.amazon.com/AUKEY-Charger-Output-Foldable-iPhone/dp/B06W59WT9M/ref=sr_1_2?

quality wires

anker 5 pack 13

https://www.amazon.com/Anker-5-Pack-PowerLine-Micro-USB/dp/B015XPQ5KK/ref=sr_1_2?

so 57 + 57 =  114   2 rasp pi  3  in really good cases     and better micro sd card

plus 24   for wires and power supplies

and I am not going into business selling them  it was a joke.

One question before I break something...lol

I am planning to power down my first one and then connect the other 2, so should I power them up in order after that?

1st one connected to the controller.
2nd one after 3rd on after.

Thanks

Actually, the miners are plug-and-play.
Leave the one running and just connect the PSU's to the other miners (PSU's still off) then connect the link cables(s) between the miners.

A second or so apart turn ON all of the PSU's to the new miners in whatever order you want and watch the "advanced" Avalon GUI CGminer status tab. If the new miners don't automajikly show up in a minute or 2 restart CGminer from the GUI and it will find them.

those instructions apply to separate psu's

if you share a beast psu  such as a finksy/jbberwock 4k dual psu  which powers 3 of these  you must turn off the psu  to add new units.

if you use 1 psu for each 741  it is no issue.

Thanks Philipma1957, I use 2 psu for each miner but not computer ones.
I have a couple of HP 512327-B21 750w that I am using with X6 breakout board adapter and pcie cables from parallel miner.
So far no issues and working at full, the psu are fairly new from a server we had.
I am hoping the 750w for each side will be good, might look into going higher but not sure what would be in the 1000w range with 120v and I know they don't have anything in the 2000w with 120v that would work.

the hp 1200 will do 900 watts on 120 volts

http://www.parallelminer.com/product/94-platinum-1200w-power-supply-kit-for-a4-dominator-litecoin-miners-110-240v/

my opinion is you do not need them as two for 1  avalon 741 is overkill  and 1 is not enough  on a 120 volt circuit

two of these for each machine should be good
