Considering the website made enough money from gambling they are now big enough that it is not as big as the investment times max bet but also it is not as low that they would need investments. Yes the max bet got a little smaller but how many people wanted to wager the max bet anyway? Hence they are able to cover almost everyone in that regard except the few who wanted to wager bigger than current max and smaller than old max bet.

I totally support any place that goes from user funded to house funded, that means they are doing everything properly and people came in here and lost money (it is a casino after all) instead of actually scamming people from their money like so many casinos. It is a shame that we find "not scamming" a good thing in casinos which should be just normal but that is the reality.
Well this makes the most sense! Enough for them to close investments for the viable reason being they don't need it any longer at having a successful gambling site in the first place.
Just like those exchanges who are doing IEO crowdfunding they see it as a bankroll to fall back on but don't even have need to do it at the start.

Yes,,, I do not know why everyone is complaining,,, imagine if a non-investing casino suddenly said they were opening for public investments for the first time, that would be the worrying sign. I would be and I am very happy that the casino I support has made this decision in full confidence of their own abilities to fund themselves.

It is a shame like you said that not-scam is the best feature of casinos, but let us hope more casinos fight to change this.

When it comes to competitions, what are the strategies you guys like? I know some people just want to be #1 by very far from the very beginning,,, this way it makes others think ah, if I challenge him now he still has many days left to make the gap wider again.

Others just like to wait 24 hours to end to put in wagers but the danger of that is others can always see you coming and wager to stay ahead.

It depends on how much money I have for the competition. If I have a lot of money then I'll just wait for the last hour to overtake the position of other players on the leaderboard but if I dont have enough money then I'll start wagering after the competition starts by betting small amount per bet but I can make so many bets but I wont hope for good position at the end of the competition because I know there will be many other players wager more than I do on the last hour.

Yes,,, then I guess it is almost the same as this for me, but if my bankroll is bigger than expected, I try to give myself a head start. This time for example,,, I had all my investments free so I started early and went right into Top 50 for first day but later I see people are coming up quick and I am below rank 60 when I started and needs over 0.02 BTC just to get back above 60!

Prize pool is up by 0.3BTC now so more to play for!

It's the last day of the competition, the prize pool floats above 1 BTC, it was nearly 1.5 BTC at some point but dropped a bit.

Still time to get onboard, hopefully the endgame will make things exciting!

Cheers,

I wish I had a bit to join the contest but with all the bitcoin dropping and some altcoins (at least the bad tokens I was holding) dropped so I am basically already super poor and have no idea how October will happen (don't worry I don't invest to bitcoin with money I can't afford to lose, I just make my living with bitcoin payments on my job) and now I can't join the contest because I can't afford.

Bad part about loving gambling is that even when you don't have the money for it you still check it, like yeah some people are addicted in a way that they actually go and gamble even when they shouldn't, thankfully I am no longer like that but just because I don't have money doesn't mean I can't keep up with my favorite places, I still come in and check them, lets hope someone who really deserves and needs get the prize.

Thanks for taking part in the competition. The prize pool ended up close to 1.09 BTC, but the total amount wagered by all players was over 421 BTC - that's a lot!

Cheers and thanks to everyone!

That was still an awesome extra prize pool, so we are very glad to hear that there were some profits after all. I also saw it was mainly up most of the time, but in the end 421 BTC wagered is a huge amount. How many casinos can say they got millions wagered, right?

Well done to everyone. It was the first contest I seriously tried to participate in but past 2 days could not get online. No problems. I still closer to level up than before:)

Lucky players. 421btc total wagered, expected profit for the site is around 4btc and yet only .18btc are the actual losses by players by wagering. Hopefully we can have another number hunt event in the near future. I feel like I am lucky on hunting low numbers. LOL

What do you expect anyway from wagering competition? For normal players it is hard to compete with them, even if you are doing from the start you will lose to them as well because of the bankroll. Wagering competition is always about bankroll, if you have better bankroll then you will have better chance to win the competition. But for some reason, players will sure have the same bankroll to start then it might be equal competition for them. Normal players can only join specific challenge

Not necessarily. If you have referrals or if you are actively referring people,,, competitions like these tend to get a lot of people in or existing ones wagering more.

So in that sense I can compete, maybe not for the prize but I still can look forward to more referral earnings;) But you know, I got top 50 so I was not so far away either!;)

I was thinking the same because I won in number hunt competition few times already but I was not lucky enough in the last number hunt competition some time ago. Probably it will be a nice when yolodice is combining wagering contest and number hunt, so there will be 2 different competition at the same time. So players has two chances, to win something on the number hunt and the wagering contest.

Wagering is probably the one that really encourages loyalty as the one who bets the most wins,,, but I do agree, having some kind of added luck element will encourage new players perhaps to try and get really lucky.

The last number hunt, I was so sure a few people would get 0 but the guy who got it on Day 1 was never challenged so that really is all about luck!

The last number hunt I didn't hit any prized place LOL. Since I started joining the number hunt even of yolodice, I think I only rolled 0 twice or thrice and indeed the number hunt could bring up new players to the site but it doesn't have good numbers in terms of betting volume so it may not be profitable for the site afterall

Could someone please confirm that tips are non-reversible on yolodice / free to make ? What is the minimum tip ? Thanks.

Of course they are free to make, it'd be silly if you were charged something.  I'm not sure what you mean by non-reversible, there have been some cases where the Admin has helped people correct mis-tips, but in general they are non-reversible.

Min tip is 0.0001 BTC, 0.008 LTC, 0.001 ETH, or 150 DOGE.

Thank you - I ask because I have accepted a tip as collateral for a micro loan.

marcotheminer bad idea, in my opinion,,, you can just deposit and play when you have money. But if you change your mind, no need to make reversible tip, just return the tip yourself (tip the guy back).

But yes,,, should always gamble with money you can afford to lose, not with borrowed money. Trust me, you will enjoy yourself a lot more:)

Borrowed money is mostly also scared money. And when you start losing some you start taking too much risk to prevent losing the loan and in the end your are empty handed and with a loan still to repay.
