If those are the "2 PCI-E connector" version, they have a MUCH higher TDP (at about 230 watts) than any other GTX 1070 I am aware of.

That's why reporting figures as "% TDP " and such is MEANINGLESS when you don't specify the actual card they are from.

Yes i think that information you even have from me from some other thread Wink

At 65% TDP in Afterburner i have ~ 150W on the GPU's - for some 1070s that would be 100% TDP already.

Also from Sol/s the range might be from 420-480 Sol/s for the different cards - it seems that the MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X 8g is one of the top models in that case (didn't see values of more than 480 Sol/s till now reported by users)

You can get 480 out of the EVGA FTW model, but its not worth the extra 25-30 watts in power cost for the additional 30 sols.

Guys, not sure it fits here but anyhow.

As stated above, I am mining with EWBF Cuda miner and get about 780-800 Sol/s.

Issue is that the pool that I am using (flypool for zcash) reports huge instability (550 up to 1k Sol/s with average of 688 for the last 24h) and after 2 days I have started questioning if the average hashrate will ever reach my real-life performance. Such a bummer.

So, has the reported numbers reached your real-life ones?

Thanks in advance.

Yes it does, but it takes at least 24 hours of continuous running for the average to come up.  The are always swings in the current effective hash rate during normal mining.  The 2 big dips are when i was doing some maintenance on the rigs.

My average reported hash rate in the miners is 2700.

Thanks man. It went 740 avg now (miner reports 780-810 max) and still has room since I restarted the system twice today (had to update drivers and compare among other tests).

What are u running (cards) btw? Cheesy
6x 1070 per rig?

Yes running 6 x EVGA 1070 SC Blacks in one and 4 x EVGA 1070 SC Blacks and 2 x EVGA 1070 SC2 in the other.  All tuned to run at 450 sols

if 1050 can get 150 sol/s then 5 of them would be 750 sol/s

is it better 5x 1050 or 2x 1060 3G + 1x 1050 instead?

or 2x second hand 970 + 1x 1050...

or even a single 1080ti?

in dilemma right now...  Huh

It is if your power cost is low enough - and WHICH FTW model, there are at least 2 and I think might be 3 of them in just the EVGA 1070 models.
(one has ICX one has the older cooling setup, so at least 2).

I'm no longer legendary just in my own mind!

I tried your settings and its impossible for my cards to get 470sols. I got ~400sols with your setts. Eth with your settings looks like 29.3-29.5. Which model of 1070 do you have?

MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X 8G

I bought cheaper gigabyte windforce 1070 8G and probably thats why my oc is not that good.

Bump the TDP up some to compensate - those MSI are 230 watt TDP your Gigabytes (if they're the same ones I have) are 180.

You should be able to get them to at least 430 sol/s and possibly more with the right tweeking.

I already have ~420sol/s with TDP ~100W and its ok for me. I think 150W or a little bit more is not worth for ~50sols more to get 470 in all but mayby someone have free electricity Wink

Hi guys, I already have my first miner working with 5 gpu EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 Gaming 6GB single fan but I'm newb do not know how to optimize the mine with msi afterburner, Does anyone have a good afterburner msi configuration for zcash (zec miner software) with these gpu https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Support-Graphics-06G-P4-6161-KR/dp/B01IPVSGEC/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&qid=1497490937&sr=8-1&keywords=evga+geforce+gtx+1060+6gb&linkCode=sl1&tag=330ab-20&linkId=b5400193c94d4385991ad1cbadf55b65
I need a stable configuration, not the maximum but unstable, thanks.

could anyone post temps with cuda miner? also would be interesting to add ambient room temps

my gigabyte gtx 1080 ti, 12 hours mining and case opened is 80 degrees constantly

I tweaked graphic card like this:

113 power limit
+61 core clock
+350 mem clock
+100% fan

maybe something wrong with my card? or the absence of backplate is the big problem and cheap plastic?

I have two of my rigs with 2 cards plug directly in the Mobo and the card in the first slot is always
6 degrees higher than the other one. Not enough room between them to breathe.

tried a lot of tweaking yesterday (aiming for optimal sol/w) with my (temporary) 1080 ti FE (PNY) and can't really make sense out of your 113 pl-value as the minimum i can set on my cards is 125, but the perform best (with stock clocks) at 150W pl.
OC'd seems to like a little more wattage, in my case 160W seems to work pretty well.
+200 core clock ran stable for hours,
+400-900 mem clock didn't seem to make much of a difference,
fans @ 70% as the cards are sitting tugged nicely in an air-stream provided by some yelling server-fans, temps around 55-62 deg C with ambient-temp around 24 deg C.

yielding 630-640 sol/s @ a perf-ratio around 4.03 sol/W.

@Chipychop: evga 1080 ti fe really allow tdp-target of 90W? or 90% (of typically 250W)? and whats the 220 watts you were mentioning? the 90% of 250W max TDP, right?

The FTW model, the FTW2 and FTW DT should do the same as they all have 10+2 power delivery.  The FTW DT may not perform as well as they are the factory rejects that didn't pass the over clock testing.  Only drawback is that they require 2 x 8 pin power connectors.  But if you plan to run low power it should be ok to run them on the 1 x 8 pin to 2 x 8 pin Y adapter.  Not sure if it effects the performance of power delivery not having 2 physical power legs from the power supply.  The plus side is that they have larger fans and heat sinks then the other models so they run a bit cooler.

Can we expect a better performance in the future? or this is the end for optimization?

All the best and thank you for EWBF!

I think it's not the end, but our cards are already pushing hard, and there is no more room for some big hash increase.

can't afford that yet. best i can get is 2x 1060 + 1x 1050 from the money & power wise.
but yesterday i check 980ti can get around 480 sol/s which is on par with 1070. i can get 2nd hand 980ti in here around $400 so maybe that one is better?
new zotac 1060 6gb is $290 in here so x2 = $480 but that can get me maybe around 600 sol/s

haha... dizzy... need a beer...  Grin

What are you folks using to keep the miner running after a crash?  Claymore has spoiled me Wink   Maybe something like firedaemon to run as a service?
