Thanks for the great review and the effort you put on it mate: as usual from you! Wink

I'll surely revise all your suggestions, but i'm quite concerned about this:

I would say that on the first few hours I was losing money, but not because of the bot. I had a mistake in inputing data in the settings of the bot. I mixed up the EMA1 and EMA2. I doubled EMA2 and not EMA1, as a result I lost a minor amount of 0.0005BTC. However in the next couple of hours, the bot was able to get back the amount plus change.

Doubling EMA2 or EMA1 doesn't matter: they are two short-middle periods of time the bot calculates price moving average. As long as the price goes below BOTH of them, it would buy, and then (based on the strategy you selected) it would calculate the selling price: which CANT be on loss (unless you put min % sell <= 0.5). So let's dig more in that bro: can you send me the CSV of THAT trade from poloniex? (Export trade history and then just show me the buy/sell off that trade).
Thanks!
~Gun

Well, this is my thank you for giving me the opportunity to try out your software. Grin

Doubling EMA2 or EMA1 doesn't matter: they are two short-middle periods of time the bot calculates price moving average. ~Gun

Hmm probably it was just because at the time it happened it was because there was a temporary drop in the prices of the altcoins I was holding. I didn't lose that much money, just around 0.0005 or something. So I'll probably edit that on my review.

 I was holding.

Yup! That's the trick: usually people make the mistake to compare profit/loss against USD. Indeed, what we are trading is BTC/Altcoin. Mathematically a loss is impossible to achieve: it buys low and sells higher than what it bought (the user can set this in the configuration).
There might be a good solution to this tho: i'm working on an idea like:

Code:
if (altcoinprice is low) & (bitcoin/usd price is low)
         do_something
   else
         do_something_different

Hi Gunthar,
I'm interested in your bot, but I would like to know a few things:

Does it work on a Linux system and/or an raspberry pi?

Will it lose money if an Altcoin goes up a lot?
- I'm not interested in the Altcoin falling in price, but more if it goes up.

Is there a diminishing returns at some point? Like 5 BTC or 10 BTC.

Not very active. Please use PM or email to get a reply from me.
High value lender – Within 24 hours, I can fund your 10 BTC loan. Give me 48 hours and 20 BTC will be ready.

Hi FrilledShark Smiley
the GUNBOT runs on any box able to run node.js, i have customers and i have tested myself on nix and iOS, i never tried on pi tho. COnsider each nod instance takes 20k of RAM so you would do yrou maths about the pi.

The GUNBOT cant trade at loss (unless a misconfiguration that doesnt take care about the poloniex fees). If the altcoin goes up, it keeps to sell step by step: it buys when price goes below both EMA1 and EMA2 (it happens during the rampage or "corrections" too) and sells at the % gain you set in the configurator.

The max i could test was with 25 BTC and it just keeps gaining following the % we set in the buy/sell, not sure what you meant with diminishing returns.

Smiley

CULEXEVILMAN'S TESTIMONIAL

This is my testimonial/review and suggestions for the bot.

So if you're interested in trying out the bot, I suggest you read through here.

I obtained a copy of the GUNBOT from Gunthar on December 27, 2016.

About the GUNBOT

It is KISS (keep it simple stupid), with all the fancy things other platforms at bot has, its a no frills make money bot, now its not gonna make you money if you do not know how to use it, I wanted to run it on Linux so it took some trial and error, but ultimately I got it running and connected with Gunthar’s assistance.

User Interface
The UI is CLI, so its perfect for fundamentalists like me, I prefer CLI over GUI, its more efficient to run over multi pairs, so you can really make this thing into a power trading house.

User Friendliness
The bot should be easy to understand if you have some basic knowledge in trading and markets,
if you are complete newbie I suggest you do some homework before diving into it, even I had to go under at times due to my misconfiguration in the beginning, (PS back in the green now of course, but it is def profitable)

Operating the bot
I use Linux to run this, and Gunthar showed me how to use SCREEN on Linux, it is much easier to manage than in WIN version I think due to the lack of screen real estate I have.

Trading Strategy
It uses 2MA simple and time proven strategy to trade as explained by Gunthar, I also use it at times to help me go into some manual positions, its just a valuable tool to analyze the markets. If you want to utilize more advanced trading strategies, you should use more complex tools, this is a solid tool that does what it needs to do.

Support
Gunthar is always there to help out with the bot and would also give advice and guide you on how to use it properly.
He was very helpful in the whole process and patient as ever with newbie questions. Don’t forget to tip him!

Comment & Suggestions
A overview of all the bots running giving a better view of the status like a dashboard control panel type thing.

Disclaimers:
1. This is my own experience and review.
2. I am not endorsing this bot in a way to say that you would NOT lose money. Don’t play with more than you can afford to lose.

About ~1% profits a day at current rates started with 25BTC.
I am running many of currency pairs at a time, not all pairs are shown.

I know this. But it takes too long to really check each of those pairs. Also, if you are still holding on to an alt coin it will show a really big negative. This would already be poloniex's problem. Poloniex is showing unsold alts as losses, which is incorrect. I used to trade stocks, but the online platform I used had a better way of showing the true profit and losses I had. Probably I'll create an excel file that would really show my profit/losses.

Edit: I think the BTC VALUE in the Balances page of poloniex is the best way to show how much your progress is. Because it is the BTC equivalent of all Alts you are holding if it was sold at current prices (whether it would incur a loss or not).

YOui see all those "buy" without a "sell"? Click on each of them: it will exclude unsold trades from the calculation. THe total of bought/sold coins on top right must be the same.

if you are still holding on to an alt coin it will show a really big negative. This would already be poloniex's problem. Poloniex is showing unsold alts as losses, which is incorrect.

YOui see all those "buy" without a "sell"? Click on each of them: it will exclude unsold trades from the calculation. THe total of bought/sold coins on top right must be the same.

LOL. Didn't know that was possible. XD

I wish poloniex has a better way of showing everything. It takes a while to view each altcoin's progress.

Thanks for the tip gunthar!

Awesome! Grin

Looking forward to more updates! I'm with you on this bot bro, I'd love to see it improve along the way! I'll add more suggestion on my testimonial once I think of some more and inform you.

So far, looking at my progress, I have profited 3%. That's 1% a day. LOL.

Oh ok, here is how to do it safely:
1.- if you have no "buy" orders on book, just shutdown the bot and start a new instance of that/those pairs
2.- if you have buy orders: cancel those buy orders (NOT THE SELL ORDERS!!!) and restart the bot on those pairs.

I have a working version with automatic closing orders that didnt get instantly filled but i like to test new features a lot, so it is not in the next update.

Hope it helped Wink

Mr Bodz's review

Gunthar helped me through with some really stupid questions, he also fixed the bot when there was an issue with it when he first sent it to me.
He has taken on board a number of suggestions we discussed.

The bot runs perfectly fine in a forever script on ubuntu 16. I've just used the default settings and let it run. I tested it out with 0.1 BTC (just under) as of the current moment, poloniex is reporting the value as 0.10155425 BTC with quite a number of open sell orders atm. Not a massive amount but something is better than nothing. I contributed to the little amount of profit by selling a number of coins at a loss.

Looking forward to buying the bot myself but it may not be for everyone.

Hi gunthar!
Gratz, you develop a great bot, and looks this work smothly.

Do you have any other vouch copy? We can discuss about portuguese translation too. Just hit me a pm.

Have a good week.

I've PMed you buddy

Some news on bot development:
next release will have a dashboard with automatic profit/loss calculation per pair, so you dont have to bother with (ugly) poloniex profit/loss tool Cheesy

Also...candlesticks with the GUNBOT strategy applied so you can see "live" what the bot is doing Wink
