When it comes to gambling, a lot of people who are not superstition in daily lives also become more superstition. Some of the example that they do like wearing lucky charms, or prefers not to sushi or read a book before gambling as they sound alike with 'lose' in certain languages. I also tends to see people try to rub the screen of the slot machine in hoping that they will get good pulls when everything is programmed.

I believe all gamblers are probably the most superstitious people in the world and they will do anything to improve their chances of winning. Whether it is carrying a lucky charm or performing some sort of ritual before or during their gambling sessions; anything to influence lady luck to smile on them.

 That superstitions can develop in many gamblers and become a basis for future gambling sessions. If the player has won, he looks at what transpired during the winning session. This is where a player may decide that an article of clothing or some other activity was “responsible” for their good fortune. Likewise if a player loses, he will look to see what may have caused his misfortune. If a player has one or two losing sessions with a particular dealer, they may develop a feeling that the dealer is unlucky and unbeatable.

I also believe on it, because all gamblers have same thinking whenever they win in games. They think they win because they use this strategy and mostly gamblers think, they win because they use their lucky charm, it mean they consider some colors and dress and sometime they have a lucky girlfriend that's why today they win in betting. But it is all our strange thinking in reality may be these things have no credit of our winning, because it is just our superstitions.  

Yes, I thought so too, that's why there's such thing as lucky charms. People really do believe in them and they tend to hold on to that belief, regardless of the nationality and age. The sad part is there are some people who rely on pure luck, but others tend to be more strategic when it comes to gambling. And that's where addiction to gambling takes place.

True, a lot of people are very superstitous, sometimes I am also superstitous but I didn't apply that much especially in gambling because gambling is more on luck.

Isn't that the reason why you are being superstitious? To become luckier and believe that you can really be special in gambling and hopefully you could really win more and probably earn more and stop before you get greedy.

Nope, I know that being lucky is not always with us. But gambling is really more on luck. Even if you have already a gambling skills you will never tell that you can win all the time of your game right? We all not know when we were going to win but we still playing it because there is sometimes we think that maybe we can win in our next game which is we are still thinking of our luck.

superstition would always there as an extra entertainment in gambling , especially for those people who believe in a lot of myths and sometimes lazy to think realistics. gambling indeed about looking for the luck and do something impossible to win certain amount of money. unfortunately things never go as planned and expected in gambling because its uncertainty. superstitions has nothing to do with gambling realistically.

Exactly, we gamble to have fun and we can do anything even if others judge us that we will not gonna with if not realistic.
The satisfaction is the most important, when you have fun gambling you'll definitely gonna forget your loses and you won't get a negative results. Most of us are gambling basing on our luck and since there is no exact method to attract luck we tried different things just to have it and win the game.

In the process of looking for luck, some people believe in superstitions. It's just a way some people pick to make the game more entertained. And for sure people will have different ways on how to get excited during the game.

Superstitions have no sound reality grounds in nature .they are only a way person perceives the things happening in his or her life.

Gambling and superstition have a deep relationship nowadays for most of the people because both of these are only dependent upon the inner vibes and perception of a person.  If someone has a positive note on a particular day then obviously his superstitions are according to it.

What i do when i am gambling in land base casino btw i play slot most of the time and before i press the play button on it i always scratch using my finger the image that i want to show up and connect in the slot machine. You can not blame me sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt but most of the time i lose in slot machine but still i keep doing it.

Haha that's new to me, what I do is crossing my fingers just like the usual gamblers that wants to be lucky. If that is working for you then it's good, as sometimes it also works for me when I'm crossing my fingers. Well this is just all of a sudden and there's no basis on it. We win for sometime and we lost most of the time.

Hahaha, I always saw this from many gamblers in landbased casino. And almost all of them are elders, (I'm not saying that BossMacko is ). Maybe they are old schools and still believed in superstitions that why they still do it even we already know that it doesn't work (sometimes maybe, pure coincidence). I remember one incident wherein a elderly scratch scratches the pyramid so that she can get the bonus, lo and behold the next few spins give her the bonus that she has been waiting for. Its just luck though that the reel stops at a bonus, but I highly doubt that scratching the machine makes the difference.

The gamblers do belong to the different types of schools of thoughts. Some of them do believe much in the superstitions as they have actually found it working in their case.

In my view, it is somewhat helpful for the player because it entirely depends upon the perception of a gambler and his inner vibes that how he perceives the things around him. The better you feel the best you get.

I don't believe it, growing up with a gambler father I never heard him saying about superstition in gambling and also don't believe it. For me if you  win you are lucky and if you lose its not your day.

I agree. There will still old schools gamblers here that when they started on their gambling journey, they also believed on it. Maybe they where influence but their friends or families and when they become old themselves, they carry this thought throughout and the cycle continues, they may influence someone along the way.

And then there's the new breed of gamblers. Never heard or doesn't believed on it and just rely on their pure God giving talents like in poker or sports betting.

Two complete school of thoughts, but just one aim, to gamble and win big.

I'm superstitious and in gambling I try to stick to some signs to increase my chances of winning. Usually I dress my happy clothes or use my happy perfume.

Can you share what are those signs? I'm not into superstitions anymore but I respect those people that has this type of belief. Sometimes we win and sometimes we don't, there's nothing to lose if we are going to try but there are people that are against to this thing.

1. I choose the number of parking slot that I will park. Usually it should have my favorite number 111,777 etc.
2. I don't want to wait for someone if he or she is going to go with in the casino.
3. I wear the same shirt that I won big.

It's just normal for. It works more like a mind conditioning but it doesn't really affect your chances of winning. It's better to have a positive aura because you'll going to lose much more if you feel bad for yourself.

Yeah for luck based gambling games, some people needed spmething to give them reason for their luck. It can be through  amulets, or routines and with an unpredictable deal like gambling, its normal to have one or teo superstition

If we do the things which gave us win before it actually help to built our mind strength and it will give positive vibes so the player have more chance of winning because if the mind is stong maybe we can calculate what is gonna happen.
Do you know that we only use 6% of our total potential of brain maybe the positive vibes help to increase that percentage and even it maybe good enough to predict what is gonna happen in future.

Because i think gambling is a form of entertainment or fun.
I think gambling is luck or skill, maybe many gamblers who believe in superstition as As their obsession.

It's a guide for those people that wants to believe on it. But for those people that are not looking and believing on it, they just have to respect the gambler that has a belief on it. That superstitious belief on your tribe is something new to me and that's the first time I've heard something like that.

That's something extent and desperate, offering something to his/her god just to have some luck. My uncle also do that but I won't say on what religion is he.

nothing can prove that all of those actions before or on the game are really has an influence to make the chance to win on certain games increased. realistically it is should be like that , but i won't prevent or warns them to do that superstitious thing.

That's superstition beleif, it's just up to us if we believe in that a kind of thing for every we gamlbe in different games. If you just depending on your superstition then keep,it up, if that's your believe to win in every gamble you do, but some others don't believe about that, they're just depending on their skills on which they get it of what they have experience before.

I mean, these are the things that people tend to think especially when they are experiencing a series of loss or wins. Regardless of their luck, they resort to thinking that it was due to some superstitious belief, when in fact, the odds are just in their favor at that night. Where did you theorize that superstitions work for a while or even consider it to work? There is no such thing as a working superstition. It is just something people think that works but it was just mere coincidence that it worked at the time they brought with them whatever superstitious item like a rabbit's foot. It doesn't work all the time, ti was mere coincidence and that should stay that way. People should stop believing in these kinds of things.
