Gambling and Superstition

I'm one of those who don't believe superstition when gambling I think it's just luck and they are just exaggerating luck but many around me also believe in superstitious things and are Involve to gambling when initially aimed at ancient traditions

It depends on us on how we can play gambling most of us are believing in superstition where they are thinking that it can bring them luck by thinking advantages too. Its kinda weird when others act too much that's like whats you thought too exaggerated for them to think advantage where the result is kinda awful.

Well lets respect on what they do believe because there are really people do believe such things which they are basing on their supertitious beliefs as long it doesnt hurt anybody then theres no wrong on following those things.We should mind our own business and should not criticize others beliefs but into myself i dont really believe on those things because it cant really contribute on how lucky i am.

I cannot see to believe a supertition in gambling could hurting someone lol .
So feel free to keep doing that , there's no harm and even it is really fun .
Just make sure to not too serious , it will never have a good ending .

Correct, engaging in superstition will not benefit you in any way when you gamble but I doubt is going to give to you any bad effect either, it will be better not to engage in it to begin with but if you want there is no harm in bringing with you a lucky charm.

i believe in superstition but not in gambling. most of the people using different tricks to change their luck like some people change their place. some start playing with left hand, and so many other trick people use to change their luck but i think luck cannot be change so easily, if you have experience and skill then you can do some thing but otherwise it is not such an easy job

I grew up in a family who believes in superstitions and I followed it as well. After reading some of the comments in this thread, I was quite surprised when I found out that there are superstitions in gambling too like wearing lucky shirt and the lucky number for parking.

I also believe in superstitions but I don not apply it in gambling. I do not think that those will have any effect in the game and also while playing. Winning in gambling mostly depends on the luck already and I do not think that any superstitions applied might be helpful in any way.

You'd be surprised how many people do. I'd say at least 10% of people on earth are more or less superstitious.
Ask your family how many of them believe in bad luck or luck in general and you'll see.

As long as people do believe into some hidden power which will be taking control of their future or at least control of luck factor, I guess people will remain superstitious. I do see many similar characteristics of being superstitious and being religious. So, there will be no wonder on seeing many people are being superstitious, it is just similar to believing into existence of God.

Yes there are superstitions in gambling too and it's being inherited by us. If you do believe on it and you have known many of superstitions, you are going to think that it's applicable everywhere. Actually, I don't believe anymore with superstitions whether I use it to gamble or not still that doesn't going to give me good winning.

No I don't, it's just a feeling to get better right. Nothing related to win in gambling, even though we need luck to make profit in this environment. As you said, it may  caused played at land base casino but some people admit do it at online casinos too. I'm not a superstitious believer, and I don't believed on that things too. For me this is just an old belief which has been
inherited to our ancestors a long time ago. I just play, then if I win it's not because of the superstitious belief of course.

So you mean that if you win gambling website will gone bankruptcy? In just one people who win a jackpot or win so much he cant beat the house of gambling site. We knew that some gambling website have a limitations of winnings and how would they put a jackpot or pot money that can take them down .If we focus in superstition yea you might be lucky and have a good confidence and its good for you if you win if not its your choice to believe and continue your superstition to bet or stop.
Gambling Casino's dont even bother how lucky we are because they have the most money of gamblers who loss and they will not offer a jackpot that will lose their bankroll.

I'm not a superstitious believer, and I don't believed on that things too. For me this is just an old belief which has been

Many gamblers are supertitious and they think their actions lead their game result. I think it's just a coincidence, because this kind of gambler is always trying a different supertition to win and sooner or later they will win.
And when this happen they will say it was because the thing they did, because their supertition, but what they don't say is that even when they execute their supertitions they lose in game.

well though I agree with you, I don't really think there's anything wrong to consider some things lucky and take it with you when you gamble. I mean, yeah there are no proofs that would prove that these things work but as long as it makes you feel good then it has a positive effect on you and that's all that matters

That's the problem in every superstition. Because it does not really have any sort of basis, there is little point in believing any of it. They can just create new ones every time they get lucky. Like your example, Mr. Gambler wore his new shirt and won. He thinks it is lucky then on day two he wore his lucky shirt and wore his new shoe and he lost. He now concludes the shoe was the problem. It's actually stupid logic.

Although we live in the modern world but still many people believe in superstition. But most importantly for me, as long as people do not rely on superstition when making decisions and just putting it only as an extra support, I think it is perfectly legitimate.

This is so funny. Luckily it feels like it is working but dunno if it really has effects. I read a book saying our minds are very powerful that sometimes it may create something unusual. I also have my own superstitions in gambling like the numbers, my thumb toughing my chest.

It is not about this lucky shirt or something, it is just us, we are the one who is lucky, and we are not lucky because of this item. But I can't blame you guys if there are people here believing on that, well maybe it is really working on them, that is why they are always searching for their lucky numbers, t-shirt, and other items, but believe me, this lucky item won't win against the house.

There is no God, Luck, even emotions are just chemicals in our brain. Neglecting facts we actually support stupidity, our insecurities are made by lack of knowledge.
