Wow, the market has been remarkable slow (boring) for the last few days. You can tell by number of people, who forgot they are in wall observer thread.

This thread has, er, mutated somewhat. If you want an old school experience then maybe try the first few pages with all of the numbers blanked out.
It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

It's sort of a troll-asylum now. We keep them busy so they don't bother the proper folks.

Can you guys exactly tell me what is GBTC, and how it's working?

http://www.otcmarkets.com/stock/GBTC/quote

GBTC is going to be the world's first publicly traded Bitcoin fund. Barry Silbert launched this thing in 2013 and they found a sneaky backdoor to putting a "Bitcoin fund" on a public exchange by publicly selling shares that have been held for 12+ months on an "Over the counter" market (not a top-tier one such as NYSE or NASDAQ). It is not officially an ETF (which is what the Winkle Twins are going for on NASDAQ), but it functions in much in the same way (with pretty hefty fees might I add). Effectively, each GBTC share is worth 0.1 Bitcoins, and it is set to start trading sometime this week, or so we are led to believe by Barry Silbert's Twitter account.

Monkey is rather disappointed with the overnight and subsequent day, but continues to expect 4 to 10 days generally upward, as one phase of a trend with 6 to 12 weeks left in it.  I get pretty skeptical of the monkey's views when the action is extremely mono-modal though.  Up, down, sideways, in all of these cases if the action is very concentrated with little deviation, the monkey tends to see signals in slight deviations which are in fact noise.  Because of scale, he's more credible intraday right now, and sees 254 as support, off of which we should bounce around midnight GMT.

Some very big investment banks on the GBTC bid list. I wonder if they will try to short bitcoin to the ground when they get shares to play with. What do you think, guys?

Surely there can't be that much more shorting left to do. They could murder it completely but that would be a rather pathetic short term gain. I dunno what goes on in minds like those so perhaps that'll be the plan for a few of them.

How about you stop playing apologist for the <insert LowlifeDegenerateTrollScum's favorite topic>, hmm?
Or would that mess with your get-rich scheme?

wake up

What if Winklevoss Twins' bitcoin ETF (NASDAQ) would be the same as GBTC (Barry Silbert's Bitcoin Investment Trust, OTCMKTS):

1: NO trades two weeks after official launch, unlikely for ETF, because Winklevoss Twins can't wait to sell their bags (1 million shares = 100k bitcoins), so there would be sell orders soon as ETF goes live!

2: The ETF will only got less than total 75 bitcoins buy orders like GBTC does (GBTC only has 750 shares bid list = 75 btc demand http://www.otcmarkets.com/stock/GBTC/quote).

If thing comes out like this, does it mean neither wall street nor average joe (who invest with their retirement account) is waiting to get in and in fact nobody care about bitcoin?
