Is it real though or a fake one put up to trick people into buying? I don't trust the walls any more. I'm no trader (long term HODLER) but I've seen walls put up & quickly taken down on all the main exchanges. Whales be manipulating. We'll see I guess, it's pay (wages) weekend for most people in the UK so people who buy in monthly will be active this weekend. I've already bought 2 bitcoin today, 10 dollars cheaper than this time last week, thanks weak hands Grin

I see my bitcoin net worth go up/down ~$3K for every $10 btc price swing.  Doesn't faze me a bit, but the silly n00bs who are afraid to HODL a single btc and are just looking to make a few bucks to buy the latest cheap trinket (that they'll forget about in 6 months) would be freaking out.  They are the true weak hands.

And I'm still buying when I can, without any fear.

Oh please, spare us the bs. Your a bigger bag holder than Inca!!!  What did you buy at? 500? 600?   Grin Grin Grin

I don't think a 10 dollar swing would put you +\- 3k with 100 btc.

You would need 300 Bitcoins for that.

$10 x 300 = $3000

If he has 300 Bitcoins they must be worth approximately 300 x $285, which is $85500. That's quite a substantial sum to invest in Bitcoins at today's prices, and would be even higher at 2013 bubble prices! I wish I had that many Bitcoins.

x/3000 = 284/10

x = 284 x 3000 / 10

x = 85200 / 284 = 300 BTC

That's only around 100 btc -  it's not so much.

I don't think a 10 dollar swing would put you +\- 3k with 100 btc.

x/3000 = 284/10

x = 284 x 3000 / 10

x = 85200 / 284 = 300 BTC

it shows also that we can expect lower price variation if we get higher prices.

if the price is 30 you need just a variation of 3 to have a volatility of 10 %. if the price is 300 you need a variation of 30. price is 3000 you need 300. and if the price is 30000 you need a variation of 3000 to have a volatiliy of 10 %.

the costs are much higher to have volatilty of 10 % if the price is 30000 as if the price is just 30.

so we can expect lower volatility if we get higher prices.

this is why trading altcoins is so dangerous because of the low prices. you don't need any margin to feel like in a rollercoster.

You are right.

When an exchange offers leverage trading, its orderbook is not trustworthy.

Too easy to play whale with 10x leverage
