I guess this was a Chinese insurrection move?

http://xtnodes.com/other_nodes_and_xt_nodes_pie_chart.php

11.5% of nodes are now XT.

Chinese didn't want the fork. So this is their way of protesting. Drama queens. Bitcoin needs that fork.

Ah well can't blame people for wanting to get rich on a short margin. They saw an opportunity... I'll have to ask, since the fork won't happen until January... will they continue to dump until then?  Cheesy
cool chart, we'll need to look back at this in a few days

Well, it seems to me after watching some of the technical debates that bitcoin has a serious problem with the beta status and a value of $4billion. It makes it extremely hard to fix technical issues just because of it's value. It can never really get out of the beta status and fix the real issues.

Mr. Contradiction, from where did you buy your crystal ball ?

Kindly tell me as your crystal balls sucks tbh !!

Lol, not perfect, but has there ever been a technology where the first implementation where the successful one in the long run?

Did you hear about the internet ?

The internet can be equaled to the blockchain, not to a particular implementation of the blockchain called bitcoin. Saying that bitcoin IS the only possible blockchain is a like saying  Mosaic is the only possible internet browser.

And who came with the blockchain, isn't bitcoin ?

Yes, the inventors of Bitcoin invented the blockchain. Since then there are already hundred, if not thousands of implementation's on the market with various improvements and variations from bitcoin's implementation. The only reason bitcoin is still largest is because of it's first mover advantage and widespread adoption. Which is also it's handicap since it's so difficult to change obvious flaws.

What are the that obvious flaws ?

I guess it depends on if Core actually has a significant %of nodes come February

I expect 99% of the businesses and bitcoin infrastructure to make the switch and 1% of die hard bitcoin core of wana rebels to keep 1MB limit alive.

we're making WAY to big a deal about all this, for months now... its over sold on this BS

FFS is right man.

I posted this a few times earlier and I don't believe anyone acknowledged it. (posts were flying by so understandable)

I am 99.99% sure this was a software/hack issue with finex. Does anyone else remember the last time this happened there were prices that went out to 8 decimal places. Well it happened again. Finex covered all the losses but I can't see how they can do that this time.

I received an email from coinsetter (i have an account but don't trade there) talking about the price crash. They referenced finex issue also.

Hey ********,

Given the fast drop in the market this evening, we wanted to send you an update on the falling bitcoin price so you can manage your account accordingly. The price has fallen from $265 earlier today to its current level of $225. Bitcoin actually fell to as low as $165 on some other exchanges over the past hour.

While we are still working to understand the cause of this unusual market movement, it appears that the shift was impacted by two factors: 1) the Bitcoin XT blockchain issue, and 2) technological issues on Bitfinex. We will continue watching this evolving situation, and please don't hesitate to email our team if you need anything tonight.

Thanks,
Jaron Lukasiewicz
Coinsetter CEO

Hm... you appear to be correct... I had a stop loss at 3.67 for Litecoin on Bitfinex, and it sold me at 3.5. But when I look back at the trading... there were buyers in the 3.60 range at least at the 1 minute resolution. So I'm inclined to think something is amiss... just emailed them about this.

hell if I know. But there's hardly any btc swaps on finex. We need those shorts to stop crashes.

I don't know what to say to anybody who was encouraged by my bullishness. I took a mighty hit too. I may be a dumbass, but I'm a sincere dumb ass.

I hate to say it but I'm beginning to think bitcoin is dumb. I'm inclined to agree with Edward Snowden. Obviously it's flawed. The concept is good, but this kind of price movement isn't so good for Bitcoin. I'm afraid the only people who actually profit from this game are scumbags. Amirite? Most of the miners are where again? And who keeps ripping off the USA's patents?

If you had a ton of money in bitcoin. Like literally everything. Like your entire life in bitcoin.
Like all you worked for the last 20 years in bitcoin.

Would you call it a bad idea to get blackout drunk right now?
Is some move going to happen in the next 12 hours because I want to forget what my brain feels like for a bit and crash

I'm not one to give advice on this subject, but, since you asked...

It's never a bad idea to get black out drunk! In fact, you should consider this a grand opportunity!

Just make sure you don't get really drink and sell all your bitcoins..  Wink

Our who knows? Maybe if it's causing you mental anguish then you just might be over-invested... 20 years salary sounds a bit steep, even to me, and I've got my entire life savings in crypto (though before crypto I didn't have any life savings, so there's that.

Sorry, rambling, if you're not gonna get rip roaring drunk, ima do it for you!
