The next day, he sent me an email. It linked to an article headlined ‘UK Law Enforcement Sources Hint at Impending Craig Wright Arrest’. The article suggested that the father of bitcoin might be liable, under the Terrorism Act, for the actions of people who used bitcoin to buy weapons. Under the link, Wright had written an explanation: ‘I walk from 1 billion or I go to jail. I never wanted to be out, but if I prove it, they destroy me and my family. I am the source of terrorist funds as bitcoin creator or I am a fraud to the world. At least a fraud is able to see his family. There is nothing I can do.’
So he went to the UK to make a revelation that would target him with the local UK-antiterrorism law, and despite already having one similar experience in Australia where he started being chased down by the authorities after some press articles, he pretended that this was not an issue (is he a total idiot?), until he was asked to sign something for the public when he "remembered" that he would be ...targeted for revealing his id so he had to ...back off. Seriously?  I dunno but it's too crazy for me not to be true. Plus with all of the psychos (even just in this thread) i'm sure they'll be a lot of people who would love to never see the BTC1MM of Satoshis BTC moved. Guy has a key to $1B which possibly be lost with him, his life would never be the same. Plus effect on the market would be devastated short term unless the first move is to some burner address |

What I mean is, you go to a country where its laws can target you if you reveal yourself as satoshi. You decide to do it despite that but then remember that if you do it you'll have an "issue". That's not logical. It sounds like excuses for the last step of verification.
In any case, if local laws were the problem, he could have done it elsewhere...

He claims to have met with DreadPirateRoberts at a Bondi Iceberg club in Sydney... Wright later confirmed that this meeting took place, but said only that Ulbricht was full of himself and they didn’t discuss bitcoin. Matthews seemed to think this was unlikely. He wondered whether Kleiman had had more to do with Ulbricht; other sources suggested the same. |

Why would anybody put their coins in a trust, and how the hell would you actually do it without moving them? Did these guys send their wallet.dats by email? And what's to prevent one of the actors from retaining a copy of their private key? It's total, utter... ^Is it because you don't like the idea that Holy Satoshi is a twat? Satoshi can be a slug for all I care, but he better provide some damn good proof.
The author's impression is that he wasn't capable of providing the proof he claimed, which would make sense if there's a trust involved? And now that the nCrypt/Google deal fell through and he got fired, he has no more reason to talk? *But that's just me, speculating about Bitcoin. |
