From past auctions, the price tends to go down shortly before the auction (people are selling bitcoins so they can buy at the auction).

If that was the sell off, we're looking good for a good climb at this point.

actually, its the opposite, the sell off happens after the auction. for instance, last auction happened on the 5th of november, we climbed very quickly from the 1 to the 5 (300 to 400) and then started the decline right back to 300

last time it was already down hard the day before the auction (Nov. 4) ...

my god you are right, sorry i was checking the graph on a site im not used to. so we had a high of 504 the day before the auction and a close at 409, then it went downhill the day of the auction

so you guys think the sell off already happened?

The auction already started at 12:00AM this morning Australia time. So any money needed is already out of the market.

With almost 14M views, this topic will soon have more views than the number of BTC in circulation Smiley

If I would have gotten one for each time I viewed this topic, I would be rich.

True, but they could still 'arbitrage' if the auction price is below the market price (sell the cheaper coins and pocket the difference).

Is there any way to measure decentralization?

This strong rally has attracted only minor attention:

Why don't you identify about what the chart refers?

Sorry about that, I posted it just before going to sleep... It's Google trends.
What I meant to depict is that the rally was driven by new Chinese speculators,
and the western exchanges tried to follow, this is not (yet) a new global enthusiasm phase.

Hmmm... seems that the market is deliberately pausing, pulling back... like waiting for some big news.

No, it couldn't be the Brexit vote? Noooo, that's preposterous, bitcoin market don't care about keying off of world events.  Riiiight?? Fellaz??

(yes it's probably the Brexit vote)

there is no way the elite will let UK out of the EU. they'll rig the votes if they have to. they'll assassinate people if they have to. so lets hope BTC isnt dependent of the brexit because there is NO way it will happen, they have too much to lose.

You are both wrong ... Because ... do you even simulate in your head before spewing up words? ...

The thing with the "Brexit" ... it is a very possible thing to happen! ... They will still have some kind of agreements with the other 28 EU nations. That does not go away. They will be like Norway or the Swiss.

And I think the "illuminati elites" actually want Britain to get out of the EU, to set up the new phase of the "New World Order" project ... The thing is that the EU starts to have too much power and is escalating too quickly with things. And if UK leaves ... then they will have to be more just in the future with the laws they give. They will start to get a moral compass!

And the other thing about BTC .... the thing is that just the fact that the Chinese media, actually made a broadcast on their main stream News Channels ... That implies government involvement!!!

Nothing flies in that country without the government to know about it! ... And they see Bitcoin as a good tool to control The West ...

Did any of you made even made a small thinking exercise, on the matter: What happens when BTCitcoin actually costs too much fiat paper to be bought?!?!!

Wow...I never thought of that. Whenever I purchase anything with bitcoins I must always use a full bitcoin.

Why do you think we all got in so early? We saw the writing was on the wall and realised that it would soon be completely and totally 100% impossible to buy it.

You know you're rolling in it when no one else can buy what you have.

Brexit is looking less and less likely over the past 24 hours, as reflected in the surge in both the strength of the £GBP and the rise in the FTSE 100 throughout trading today.  Whether this is influencing bitcoin is debatable.
