According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in
Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it
will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

... there is another angle to this also, once people have a deflationary money to store their earnings in for future spending then they are motivated to buy products that last, quality items are preferred over inferior quality substitutes that burn-out, break, etc, i.e. cheap nasty stuff that gets disposed of readily ... because if you buy a product that serves a utility/function/pleasure for longer then your savings will buy more of that product (use/functionality) in the future I'm not sure what's the purpose of that post. Sure, overconsumption may decrease in certain parts of the world if we all used a deflationary currency such as Bitcoin, but if you know that your currency will worth more in the future, you'll also choose to not invest in stocks, because they'll bring less rate than your currency's. This means that the economic growth will slow down. Not to mention how damaging can this be for the government. There are lots of downsides that come from deflation.

Not if they are bought and sold in bitcoin. When you quote a post, you have to be a little more explanatory on where you refer to or just quote a part and not the whole message. Otherwise, I can't make any sense.

It doesn't matter if they're bought in Bitcoin, dollars, gold or potatoes. If a deflationary currency prevails, it simply isn't worth it to buy them.

Well at some point the price will stabilize and btc will be used as a reserve currency for international exchanges. Its not really deflationary, only with decreasing inflation. we are simply in the price discovery mode until bitcoin takes over i suppose also thats a nice view

I think most people are using it as a reserve currency now. I do not know what you mean by price discovery mode but atm BTC is in a adoption process the quicker people adopt the quicker it will become stable. If you are a investor you prolly do not want to see it stabilize soon and want to profit more on the sudden drops and rises of BTC.

without intending to offend, you don't know what you are talking about ... Why can't one have a normal conversation in the wall observer? A constructive dialog? Why someone has to ruin it somehow? You know what? Fine. I've stopped talking to malevolent speakers either way.
