All bitcoin prices rite now are currently based of speculation of how many people are willing to hold BTC at any given time. Everyone is holding to make money, or holding to dump the second they think everyone else will.

... when you say "make money", do you mean fiat money or bitcoin money?
Money aka you can use anywhere.... aka USD hate or love it... cash is king hands down...

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

I'll do it if you want. Address down there ---v

Suggest coinabul deposits first as he's called the bet. Terms will have to be properly defined (48 hours from when)

If he still wants to bet vs me, i would take you as an escrow.

Richy-T? Are you officially going to be our escrow then?

Count me in if you are. Please send 1 BTC to Richy-T for me Coinbull, when he confirms.

What happened? I took a nap and now someone is taking my bet?
snooze you lose... lol

Windjc I think you can still come in if you like. Ask Coinbull.

He shook on it. I'm still in. What's the address to send to?

I am not sure how many bets is he willing to take, i hope he takes mine as well.

What's the bet?

I'm a reasonable guy and this is mostly for fun. If he can't risk 2 btc we can both go .5

Bitcoin is a revolution and it takes the power from the wealthy. Yet the wealthy control all the BTC and have been maipulating the price not to mention rigging the volume. What is the difenece from your average bank.

Seriously though. With 4 in now and probably anyone else who says "yes please" (seeing Coinbull's confidence) I suggest Coinbull you set a limit to this because I do think this could cost you dearly. You may of course be a Bitcoin millionaire but I don't know.

What is your limit no matter how many want in on this bet?

Could Gox ever be shut down for malicious practices, and in the process locking all customer funds indefinitely? I'm just wondering since they haven't paid anyone since july. And because I want to work the arbitrage with my euros, but the risk of my funds getting locked up in that shit really deters me.

As the value of BTC rises the risk of someone suing Mt Gox and shutting it down in Japan rises.

It doesnt make any sense to hire Japanese lawyers if Mt Gox owes you $2000.  It is a no brainer if Mt Gox owes you $20 million and isn't paying.

By extension a drastic price rise is dangerous for all exchanges.
