We have a situation now with one or more powerful buyers repeatedly hammering the MtGox asks. People see the solidly rising trend and panic buys from time to time, but we hardly correct, it is sideways for a few hours then upwards again like a marathon runner.

tl;dr extremely bullish situation. New ATH in 24h?

I agree whole hardly if we break 1000 without a sweat, but I am semi certain we see people sell shy of it at 975-999 thinking they'll be smarter then the next person.

Like me?  Grin I have sell orders in that range, but I will expire them if the BTC price doesn't reach that range within the next 8 hours.

Super bullish but I can't get my money to Bitstamp until Wednesday Angry

Same happened to me and the price shot up before it went through. In retrospect I wish I'd swallowed a modest localbitcoins premium. Might be worth thinking about if you think the price will continue up.

Thanks, I will look into it.

I agree, swallowed it at 142.50 a coin back in october.. thank god cause it was in the 300s by the time I was verified and had money in CaVirtEx

I wish I had in October when I tried to deposit $10k only to find that Virtex had changed to requiring verification.

By the time I came to my senses and used Localbitcoins, the price had already doubled from under $200 to over $400. The 10% premium was small compared to what I'd lost waiting. I still doubled my money in a short time.

My original $10k didn't appear in my Virtex account until December 18. By then it had gone to 1100 (at Virtex), crashed down to 442, and rebounded back up to 600. If they'd been even one day faster I would have been able to get a half dozen more coins and maybe less pissed off.

What should have been 50btc in October turned into 14btc thanks to Virtex.

Sooo, what happened to the weekend dip? And what happened to the people who reserved some fiat to exploit it? I guess they have not cleared. Another sunday rally coming.

im in the same boat lol

i have digits in the 5 digit range coming in next week. not sure if i should buy in at 900-1100 range by then or wait til february or the next crash.

i originally intended to add more to my stash when the price was 700 when i made my transfer. then it grew to 800, 900 and now close to 1000 and my funds still aren't in.

Bitcoin Bulls -> "Price will go up to $10,000 and beyond without making serious corrections downward on its way there."

Bitcoin Bears -> "Price is currently a bit too high and is due for a major correction. We will eventually get to $10,000 but we aren't going there soon."

lol, i wanted to do the transfers during the holidays but thought i'd wait to see what happens

when did you do the transfer? i done it on thursday, hoping it gets there on monday.

planning to make another transfer early next week, i'll be reasonably happy if i can get them for not much more than $1000

i think if we go past the previous ath, we'll be at 2-3000 by end of february/early march

I don't think localbitcoins is going to be much help for me. I am in the UK and just received £30k to spend on behalf of my father. My bank lets me transfer a maximum of £10k per day internationally, hence Wednesday. That's 3 days, and 3 urgent SEPA transfer fees (= £90). Fuck banks.

Not so fast. Looks like major resistance up ahead after we hit a 24 hour high on Mtgox.

I'll tell you what happened.  They (me) burnt that fiat buying in about 5 minutes ago. Smiley

I am fine with that.  I am still sitting on all the coins I bought all the way down from 800 to 500 with my heart in my mouth last crash. (I started panic holding when it dropped under 500).

Ahhh. I understand.

Just get a lambo and put a btc sticker on it. Muuuch better than a tshirt. 6 to 8 months maybe everyone here can buy lambos.

That would be a bit earlier... Wink

not when wall street fianly can get money into the system and btc goes to the min $40,000

i assume most people here have at least 5 btc.

... must be libertarian yellow lambo .. optional leggy blonde dark combo draped on the bonnet

yes, that black and yellow was not an accident. cant wait until i get my vanity "don't tread on me" BTC plates!

edit for photo, too bad the black on top and in back cant be seen. yellow and black seats also.

I thought your license plate was going to say "HODL!!"

The mistake the bears made was thinking that Jan. 2014 was just like April 2013 or 2011.

We might get to ATHs for a while. But the landscape of Bitcoin investments is changing literally everyday. As those fundamentals change, so does the chart.

Yeah, I see, looks like all except china did a little face-plant there...

I deserve it. Arrogance and avarice and all that.

*edit* actually, that looked a lot like a cash out on multiple exchanges by the same entity at the same time (something I expect bitpay would do when they need to clear a transaction)

did someone just buy a lambo?

That is not bad but since BTC is taken I think I will use XBT.   HODL would be some lol!

I think "HODL" would be epic. But maybe a little too much of an inside joke.

Bitcoin Bears Bulls -> "Price is currently maybe a bit too high and is maybe due for a major correction. We will eventually get to $10,000 but we aren't going there soon."

Bitcoin Bears -> Price is much too high and will crash down under $500 and not reach $10,000 for years, if ever."

If this market was a few decades or centuries old I'd take all the chartage and precedents people could serve up. There's still so, so much left to discover and develop that I'm tending to only take note of news and sentiment.
