i call 300 before friday
I kinda have that feeling too. Dont see a dump after goxstamp reopens Prepare for the pump, here it comes Could reach 294$ in 2 hours, but IMO that will be a local top. There is 23600 shorts on finex... traders could start closing them if we go up enough. Stamp coming online soon! https://www.bitstamp.net/well that is one way to do hardware upgrades and migration i guess. they should use quality hardware and not the cheaper "everything on one device" hardware.. i have cisco and sourcefire in my network for security myself. i bet they got a checkpoint "all-in-one" and called it good. (save $50k - $60k)

major exchange offline for a day and no big movements at other exchanges Minor exchange in Slovenia offlne for a day, Chinese short-term speculators do not care. I believe Bitstamp is in the UK now, isn't it? They are from slovenia or something but operate in UK Their address in UK is Jupiter House, Calleva Park, Aldermaston, Reading, West Berkshire RG7 8NN its a low rent business park. see google maps streetview https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.361939,-1.163763,3a,75y,94.43h,85.06t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1s1bXD1B5RcL98nEvhb1UCsg!2e0 for a flavour of the esteemed office. If you google this you will see there are hundreds of businesses registered here. I think theirs is unit no5. Despite me knowing this I am one of the fuckwit suckers owed 3 Bitcoins I just bought at $270. I didnt immediately send them to my cold storage address. They are not looking so cheap now. Fortunately all the rest of my coins are safe in cold storage. Just awaiting the news that the Bitstamp crew have been seen boarding a jet to whatever Shangri la Karples is hanging out in. Followed by the announcement of further bad news that all the cash and coins have vanished. Oh well it could have been worse I could have been killed by the nutters of god at Charlie Hebdo magazine office in Paris today. Cartoon Pictures of the Prophet Muhamed anyone?

Do you have infos if stamp is deducting the fees in btc or fiat? I would tend to say fiat but it would be not too far off if they atleast hold a part in btc?
I have less information than anyone who trades there. (Is the fee really 1%?) It does not matter whether a payment (fee, purchase, deposit…) is in BTC or in dollars. Its value is best measured in dollars, converting BTC at the current market rate. How that amount is kept after the payment can be considered a separate decision by the person who received the amount. That is, if Autumn pays Brock in BTC, and Brock keeps them as BTC for some time, it is the same as if Autumn had sold the BTC, given the dollars to Brock, and Brock has immediately bought back the BTC. Yeah you are right with this. i was thinking about the next step stamp is gonna take. 1. They have a private btc reserve 2. They have to buy back the btc Option 2 has higher probality to raise the price

We are mere hours away before they have rebuilt the entire site from the ground up lol I had a similar reaction when I read that. When something needs to be rebuilt from the ground up because it was unsecure, it does not inspire a great deal of confidence in those who built it initially, and are now rebuilding it.

It was their own operational wallet that got hacked, not customers. Bitstamp lost 19K BTC from their own wallet from the security breach. If what they say is true, all customers balances should be restored in full either tomorrow or Friday just like they left it.

Imagine the panic all the fiat bag holders on stamp must feel That is another good point although an amateur audit was done on their bitcoin there was no report on the cash at hand held to balance their customers deposits. Exchanges like bitcoin.de in Germany actually give you a separate account to hold your cash in. If they go under your cash is protected up to €100,000 by EU banking funds. Sadly your Bitcoin is not protected.

They've probably never even been to the UK. They have a nice little slot in a wall in that joint to get some UK post and that's about it. Youve got it spot on, a maildrop just like all the other dodgy businesses hanging out there. It's incredibly simple to set up a limited liability company in UK. However, when registering with Companies House (the government entity that you have to go through to set up a limited liability company), the company is required to provide a business address as its 'official' registered business address. Rather than setting up its own physical office, many small businesses or new startups will use the services of an intermediary to act as the registered business address. It means the new company doesn't need to have a physical presence in the UK. Bitstamp's details can be found by going to: http://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk//wcframe?name=accessCompanyInfo and from there searching by company name (Bitstamp Ltd) or company number (08157033). There are loads of companies offering this intermediary service. An example is: https://www.rapidformations.co.uk/additional-services/registered-office-address/ They allow companies who operate from their living room to have a prestigious London address, for example. Alternatively, a company's lawyers or accountants often provide this service too (i.e. use their address is the registered office address). Name & Registered Office: BITSTAMP LIMITED 5 NEW STREET SQUARE LONDON UNITED KINGDOM EC4A 3TW Company No. 08157033
