Long term holding is so painful, but worth it.
Yup. And the focus even outside this thread is generally on day trading, and most ppl are followers.

What are they expected to charge them with, receiving funds from sold bitcoins? I didn't know it was a crime to sell your bitcoins. Having your account closed is bad enough without being arrested too.

Unfair to a couple of outliers who use BTC for legitimate, government-approved transactions?

edit: re @magcsa: The $5,000 aggregation rule is found at page 65 (in the section discussing Overview of the SAR) of the "Bank Secrecy Act/ Anti-Money Laundering Examination Manual" which is published by the "Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council" The legal source is found at 31 CFR 1020.320A transaction requires reporting under the terms of this section if it is conducted or attempted by, at, or through the bank, it involves or aggregates at least $5,000 in funds or other assets, and the bank knows, suspects, or has reason to suspect that: ...

Unfair to a couple of outliers who use BTC for legitimate, government-approved transactions? Like the US marshals auctioning their seized silk road coins? Will their bank call the cops to arrest them when they try to withdraw their money from the auction sales? It seems hypocritical if others get arrested for doing the same thing.

LOL I can't take fox news seriously either! Alex Jones hypes up every story he finds and tries to sell you his water filters. I used to watch his stuff years back but this guy is just looney.
