That's monumentally weak; that is a useless number.

Instead they could piggyback on:

Presentation and official lunch of Gemini?  Cool

https://generalassemb.ly/watch/winklevoss-gemini-livestream-registration?utm_campaign=2015+Q2+Partner+Livestream+[global]+Winklevoss+Livestream%09&utm_medium=partner_gplus&utm_source=winklevoss

I doubt that Gemini will launch any time soon.

And even if it does, it will only cause another pump to 300 that will correct itself to sub 250 as soon gemini opens

So many are solely focused on the current price but the infrastructure keeps getting bigger and stronger so that's the main clue as to where the price will go in due time. The price has held in a narrow alley for quite some time now.

I tend to agree with that assessment. Neither bearish nor bullish and don't have an agenda like the trolls on here but I'm worried by the lack of trading volume these days.

I'm pretty sure they've stated that everything they need to do to launch technical wise has already been done. Now it's waiting for the Bitlicence etc. Unfortunately that's what always takes the serious time.

we will break $1000 easy, but we must wait till after regulation. Poloniex is changing its t&c ,they offering extra services in return for id. If you want to see your btc balance, you need to show them id. Soon exchanges will need a license and users may need to pay membership fee. Insurance could become available on coin storage. This will happen across all exchanges. Once things settle we will see the biggest pumps we have ever seen as this will be real big corporations/banks buying for themselves, this is when the exchange regulation becomes real important because when you try to sell btc for $5k each the taxman will be expecting his share.

"Come on bulls and investors.  Put your money here so I can shit on your face (likely with leverage) tomorrow for personal gain!".  Perhaps this ongoing mentality is why there isn't this "new money" coming in I keep hearing about.

This is how markets work, everybody is after his personal gain. At least I'm honest, I don't ask bulls to buy while promising moon, on the contrary... Grin

But it would certainly be in your best interests to do so.  Since you're okay with everyone else losing as long as you gain, why not try to coerce them into your pocket?  Would it not make more sense from a profiteer to perpetuate an environment that facilitates gains?   By openly telling people you're going to take their money if they put it in the system, you're effectively killing any possibility of growth.  Without said growth a market can decline into death and then your cash cow is gone.  Perhaps stemming your greed to the betterment of the system might enable you to reap rewards for eternity instead of a brief moment in time.

Stolfi, I was asking for the "Major Bitcoin News website" that confused one European nation with another. Sounds vague and made up to me. But I guess it doesnt matter now.

No, you promise collapse because of the shape of a chart.

We are in the slow boring phase. No new lows. No new highs. Just boredom until every last speculator flits away.

Then the price will rise again, catching out another wave of would be wealthy who sold out too soon.

The market has a way of sorting this kind of thing out. One bad short on leverage can wipe you out completely.

The market has a way of sorting this kind of thing out. One bad short on leverage can wipe you out completely.

There's investing and there's gambling.

Acquiring an asset for its potential vahue or divesting yourself of it to put your money elsewhere is investing.

Going long or short on borrowed money is gambling.

in the last 24 hrs, oil (WTI) dropped twice as far as Bitcoin (3% vs. 1.5%)

So in terms of oil, we're up :-)

and only 63,000 blocks (437 days) to go until the halving of the block reward.

Switzerland has long been known as place that respects financial privacy, but that may not be true for Bitcoin companies who reside in the country. BTCX, a Swedish Bitcoin exchange, said in March that local tax authorities requested extremely “intrusive” data of 20,000 customers. ... said BTCX CEO Christian Ander at the time to a local media outlet, DN.se. “We are wondering if this situation is exactly what the Swedish Tax Authority is looking for, or if they do not know what [ ... ]

EDIT: As a redditor observed, Sweden is not Switzerland, just as USA is not USB.
