First the Cypress pump now the Grease pump. Is anyone else starting to feel as though Bitcoin is being manipulated to seem like its responding to current events? We all know the Greeks weren't actually buying. Right?

What exactly are you getting at then? Who, why would "they" deceive this way?

You know. Rich people. Because they can?

Those google trends don't lie as far as I know and would be hard to manipulate.
Seeing the rise of searches on bitcoin in southern europe is enough reason for 'daytraders' to buy, combined with a few new ones from south europe entering the bitcoin space.

Ah nice to see BTC-e and the other exchanges not so far from each other.

I think if BTC-e would join in the fun, y'all could break 280.

That's how the game is played in most markets around the globe.

Jump in and trade with the smart money! It's somewhat obvious people want to pump the market and increase their investment/decrease risk after such a long accumulation period, where a relative few have succeeded in cornering the market. Sell with them at $300, $400 and $600.

+1. I'm  with you.

i consider myself a skeptic, i have always come to doubt events happening twice with the same result. Like, this Greece drama vs Cyprus some years ago. Seems too obvious and predictable for price to go up now like it did then. If i was a manipulator,  this owuld be perfect for roping in sheep.

I am not really in any camp, and i am open to price going either way.

This goes a long way to explain how your celebrities are so bland. But...

Is K.D. Lang really Justin Biebers father?

Who decided that Dan Akroyd is a comedian? I've seen he's in a lot of comedies, but he's never funny. Never!

How is it that I have seen all of Kevin Sorbos work? Clearly, there is no reason I should have.

I don't think anyone believes that Greeks were buying, but rather people elsewhere who see the Greeks with their capital frozen and unable to convert it to other forms or move it out if the country. Greece isn't the only country with serious economic woes, just the worst case among "developed" nations.

This was probably the case with Cyprus too. One can't help but wonder how many Greeks were buying bitcoins in early 2013 during the Cypriot crisis. Those who did were the smart ones.

Of course, a lot of the recent buying may have simply been spurred by the media flurry around the association by some of Bitcoin and Grexit.

As un-funny as Aykroyd is, he's still more comical than Jerry Lewis, who for some unfathomable reason the French seem to think is some kind of comedic genius.  Tongue
