People are making money with altcoins, while you're just sitting here with your bags full of bitcoins, praying for a 2% rise.
Slow people will always be slow. They were slow to discover bitcoin and they're too slow to jump ship when needed. I personally don't recommend financial speculation to people who are slow. There are more suitable ways for slow people to make money.

When LTC et al. start losing 30-50% in a day, people will lose it all and regret playing altcoins with no bid depth. Its a double Edge sword  ..

Bitcoin craze in rural China:

http://video.cnbc.com/gallery/?video=3000387408

Signs of a top?  Grin

OUCH! That was painful to watch ...

You were right, couple of weeks later and the top was obviously in when these dumb farmers started speculating in China's stock market (around June 10th).

They got REKKED.

So I figured I'd check on old Wall posts around June 11 before the price started moving up (around $230).

Most of the talk was about how boring the price was but this was interesting:

"I think I have convinced Russia that Bitcoin is equivalent to Gold and that CBR (Central Bank of Russia) should be loading up on BTC." -Max Keiser

Though I have no respect for the Keiser. I wonder if there is some truth to this.

Very interesting. I wonder.

i missed that rise to 274 .. i'm not sure what to do yet anyways. its dangerous out there right now.

Buy some litecoins.... a month ago.

i will need more bitcoins to trade with to start trading litecoin. i would do it though. however i am going to keep the bitcoins i am going to trade with.. right now my buy for bitcoins is 250 or below. therefore it is likely that i will not trade the litecoin halving ... and anyways you might not want me to buy litecoins because it might crash .

Gold and silver are getting dumped. Bond yields are stable, there is no true fear yet.

Good morning Bitcoinland. Still scrapping around $270 I see.

Looks like the $250s are gone but I think we're still gonna tarry a while longer in the $265-$275 range before we surge past $280 and possibly $290 before sustaining over $270.

In the meantime, it's a lovely little dance.

It's going to get crazy a couple months before bitcoin halving if litecoin is any indication.  I mean litecoin has no infrastructure and no real purpose.  I'm shocked at a $6 litecoin.

This dumb coin was worth over $30 at one point, only getting back to $6 is actually not impressive.

gold and silver are not being dumped, they are being suppressed/manipulated, there is a difference. rumor i heard is liquidity in bonds is drying up causing bond yields to rise and bond prices to drop .

This rise won't stop in the near future. The pump comes from China, and they aren't interested in working under western control. The western side has large majority control over existing bitcoins and the locations of mining farms. If Chinese won't pump bitcoin, then the miners will just slowly eat away value from the market and the currency will shrivel. Several practical alts will probably get aggressive takeovers and will be funded properly to provide better alternatives to bitcoin.

That at least would be my game theory of this situation.

Not exactly related to Bitcoin, but... what's happening here?

https://twitter.com/MarketWatch/status/618807005134909440

Was wondering the same - Bloomberg thought it important enough to put up an article with only the headline "NYSE suspends trading in all securities" and no text besides "story developing..."
