let me say it again

 less than 380, NEVER AGAIN.

Still stand by that call?  I think there is a one hundred and eleventeen percent chance that you are wrong.  I will bet my last satoshi on it.

There you go... not making sense, again....  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Huh?  He was right, though? went to 379 briefly about 10 mins later....

BullyJA may have been right, but hopefully you get my point.

Both of them were asserting exaggerations, but at least Adam's exaggeration was logically possible (even though fairly unlikely).

I mean in bitcoinlandia you gotta be careful with some of the "never" and "for sure" assertions, even though in normal culture people like to talk like that... but in markets, such as bitcoin prices, a lot of this is probabilities and expectations and timeline...

Anyhow, some people go way overboard in their assertions,  yet I understand the point, as well, that we may get annoyed if everyone posted their view of numbers 99.99999935696124%... blah blah blah... because even logical numbers can be quite exaggerated and confusing and phrased in ways that are deceptive.

tbh with all this forking-crap i expected bitcoin to be sub 300$ anytime soon. that we are still around 380$ really surprises me. either i am ahead of the market or i am wrong by the market.

Looks like segwit will need to be hard forked. That should finally bring this issue to a close.

why? just combine it with a 2MB hardfork and everybody is happy.

Because segwit will need a hard fork is exactly the reason why the uncertainty over increasing the blocksize will be over soon.

We will soon enter political negotiations between the main camps where they will horse trade a 'peace' deal which will result in unity, therefore bringing things to a head.

Yah...one problem. They're all nerds. Do you know what that means?

They will still manage to fuck up a potential deal by talking about details leading to them falling out over something else, delaying things for so long we will need a 50mb block size increase?

DING!! DING!! DING!! WE HAVE A WINNER!!!

true. It's a total fuck up mess. I wouldn't be surprised at all if we end up at 200$ again...

I guess the reason why we are still so high is that most people from outside have no idea what is really going on. The further the price falls the more people will look into it and start understanding the mess.
If this keeps on going like this Bitcoin is really not that robust and could get thrown back a couple years...

I mean the question is simple: 1, 2 or even more MB and people already start a civil war. It's plain stupid.

Sombody flush the mempool? Or wat?

I would be shocked if this doesn't drag on for three more months with nothing being decided.

Isn't BIP 102 the Jeff Garzik 2MB bump BIP? Why is it only being submitted now?

indeed, imagine 2-3 months from now we could have 2 or even three "Bitcoin" selling itself as the original.

i think what is maybe still stabilizing the market could be optimists who expect a run-up after the scaling is solved.

I restarted bitcoind as I wanted to tweak some settings so the mempool starts again. It's really not very useful.

Wow, my manipulation posted 5 hours ago in Afrikoin's thread really worked, we are going down hard! Grin
Now seriously, this triggered a 12h PSAR flip to bearish on all exchanges. Also, daily MACD looks very unlikely to recover soon.

... Shit. Just when I decide to try out margin trading, the BTC decides to take a $20 plunge (guess what I am now). Seeing as how I live in a fucking third world country, I'm going to have to buy bitcoin at a premium to inject into my margin wallet to prevent being margin called. Good thing is, liq price is set at $200... Hope we dont flashcrash under that between now and tomorrow.

I really recent the fact that people selling bitcoin though international means charge such a large margin above price. Whatever. The drawbacks of living in a broke-ass failed state will be over soon.

Be careful with trading large amounts on margin.
This kind of trading is very risky and takes quite some time to learn (honest opinion).

Best of luck though. Wink
