apparently the push we see the last hours is a push upwards but in my opinion is not strong enough....we see how it goes today
I don't understand why people expect constant growth or constant instability (FUD) ... The things are clear! It goes down, it goes up! Nothing to see here... move along! i don't understand why some people have to be so annoying ... maybe nobody listen or read their posts and have the need to write in bold characters ? who knows... lucky enough we have the ignore button yeah!!! and we can move along! again yeah!!

Good AM Bitcoinland. I miss a day and miss nothing. The battle for a grand continues... currently $1005USD (Bitcoinaverage). It's now 13 consecutive days when it's been over $1000 at some point of the day. Getting kind of used to it. Remember when triple digits were a dream and the idea of quadruple digits was laughed at? Look at us now. No one is laughing at the idea of quintuple digits now. Except maybe Kwuk.

A possibility is that Chinese insiders moved their bitcoins just before the PBoC incident and now they are selling outside China

Personally I favour the simplest explanation which is - the Bitcoin ecosystem was largely the domain of fuckups, chancers and thieves for rather longer than it should have been. On top of that the price has been controlled by small numbers of people preying on a much larger number of scared kiddies who'll sell if there's a bum tweet.

Honestly, I still think that BTC value follows Einstein's Theory of Relativity: BTC price is never stable, not for a single moment. But to our eyes, actually to our brains, sometimes it looks relatively stable only because we don't see candles going up & down. By looking at it this way I bought in below $200: it's BITCOIN that matters, not the price For those who understand, no explanation is needed. For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible.
That is a good relativity theory and you are one of the lucky fellows who invested when the price was around $200 ,the main attraction of bitcoin is the high volatile nature of bitcoin and if you are trader you can make the most profit with the constant movement. in my experience price is obviously not following einstein. schrödinger is the physicist who described bitcoin much more accurately: as long as you don't check the exchanges (=schrödinger's BOX) bitcoin (schrödinger's CAT) is either dead or mooning. it is dead AND mooning at the same time until you open the box. that is the exact reason why you will find lots of media/blog/forum posts "bitcoin is dead" while you count your stash wondering "are we rich yet" at the same time. LOL Thanks for sharing your truly interesting theory about your price experience: it actually fits very well with my vision as well. I'm not a physicist but I'll credit you next time I will explain this to someone else. Talking price I see green and I love it. @Harry Callahan Buying into that price range was a must for everybody who understands bitcoin money supply, halving rewards, transactional security, etc.

I'm just waiting for the next "china bans BTC" to buy more cheap coins. Dumps are good because it allows the spread of BTC wealth worldwide in some way.
Does "waiting" mean that you do not have any coins? Or, does "waiting" mean that you have 3/4 of your coins, but you are considering that the probabilities are pretty decent that the price is going to drop some more? And what would that price be and how many would you buy back at what price points? For example, if you are betting on coins going below $980 or $950, there may be a decent chance of such, but the odds go down the lower you expect the price to go, and if you are waiting for below $900 or below $800, you are engaging in additional risk. I could see flat in this $980 to $1020 price arena - even though it currently is seeming like there is decent upwards ongoing price pressures.. so maybe jumping up out of this price range seems a bit more likely to be the next move rather than down.. sure it could go either way.. so I am only slightly considering up as being a greater likelihood.

Might start buying the dips and selling these highs, even though I'm reluctant to do day trading. If we settle into a cyclical pattern, might as well take advantage of it.

It's a gamble. If sec say no to winky ETF then you'll get cheap coins then. For the short term. Is that certain? We find out if the ETF gets approved in March at the same time the FED tells us if it's hiking the rate. Yellen says it's likely they will hike it this time. How will it affect Bitcoin's price (in dollars) if SEC says no to winky ETF but FED hikes the rate? http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-fed-yellen-testimony-idUSKBN15T1ZYThe Federal Reserve will likely need to raise interest rates at an upcoming meeting, Fed Chair Janet Yellen said on Tuesday

I always suggest that folks use small enough amounts, whether they are buying or selling that they feel fairly neutral about the possibility that their orders could get left behind... For example, let's say that you sell at $1010, and you feel like you are going to buy those back at $990, but the price never returns to your target.. then you are stuck (at least for a while), and then you should still feel sufficiently comfortable about the amount that you have cashed out at $1010.

If there's no ETF, but the FED raises the rate at the same time the two events should cancel each other out, and Bitcoin's price should either stay flat or pump.
