After the fork, Bitfinex held 101,798.8855 BCH to distribute coming from 131,237.8562 BTC in settled wallet balances and -29,438.9707 BTC in unsettled margin positions
...
I had my BTC stored on kraken before the fork. I received my BCH from Kraken about 4 hours after the fork.
pretty sure future forks won't go quite so well |

Don't think that's even started yet, this fork was just an altcoin drop, and we're waiting to see how the new altcoin works out. BTC unruffled , interesting article on zerohedge as well, one of the Bitcoin analysts Spencer Bogart has changed his view on ETF approval to 75% chance in the next 18months, this follows the options approval that was granted last week. Futures and options based on BTC coming soon. The SEC probably will change opinion on ETFs soonish. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-08-02/bitcoin-etf-approval-odds-are-way-analyst-says?page=1I am confident this would cause an immediate surge in the USD price of BTC. It's the longer term effects I am unsure of. Many say Wall Street will be able to manipulate the crypto market by naked shorting the stuff. I think an ETF backed by actual collateral can't. How about a clearing house for options and other derivatives? |
