Greatest country on the fucking planet, It was. Not anymore. Civil war and mass poverty and starvation is coming. My tax plans include planning on living longer than the US exists. Pessimistic about US, optimistic about your life span or both? I would just say...if I were the US, I wouldn't go buying any green bananas.

Well the North American continent doesn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. lol The continent will be there but what we currently call the United States as defined by the US Constitution will soon be bankrupt and sold off or taken over by some new regime. Considering the US debt is $20 trillion with over $100 trillion in unfunded laibilities. The interest on that debt is soon climbing from the 6th largest to the 5th largest spending item close behind welfare and soon to be more than military spending, there is not much the US can do. And they have to borrow money to pay the interest. When your country's revenue is mainly going to pay the interest on the loans for things you paid for in the past, no amount of shuffling the chairs or budget proposals or tax changes can put you back on the right track. What happens when the interest on the debt is 90% of the budget? Are people still going to squabble about how much money should go toward food stamps?

Money can always be adjusted, printed, re-financed. Infrastructure makes the nation as it stands today. I'm not saying that the United States won't go through a dramatic transformation but I wouldn't be surprised if the empire outlives you and I. If by some long-shot the country known as "The United States" came to an end, it will be assuredly replaced with a coalition of nearly identical nation-states utilizing existing infrastructure across the same territory. We can give Missouri to China or something though.

Hey peeps, dead curious what I should do right now, I have 1.1 bch and 0.713 btc Im wanting to get 1 btc but feel I should keep the bch incase the impossible happen.
If I sell it all I'll only get 0.145 atm which still only puts me at 0.858 with no bch possibility I missed the 1k selling chance n was gonna hold until but it seems to be just falling even more. What do :|
Why you cant just hold? Free coins and we can expect many speculative moves in bch. Not best moment to sell I think

there will no doubt be many moves in the future, but there are millions of them locked up in coinbase and others and we don't know when they'll be released. it'll probably more than double the supply.

Now I'm playing with the BCH, shorting everything every day and buying back the dips.
How do you determine its just a dip and not long term downtrend? I don't. I don't care about BCH so if it's goes to 0 I don't mind. That's the beauty of it. I'm starting to hold some in case it moons though.

Lombrozo should follow through and ignore Wu's lies, I have no idea how he could accomplish it though. Lomborzo could even 'kickstart/donate' to get funding and have enough within the hour. Everyone is tired of Bitmain.
Jeebus, that's infantile. Instead of pooling money to tear down Bitman, why don't you pool your money to outcompete them? Add to Bitcoin's security, rather than destroy it. That's something I have always wondered. Why heavily invested individuals/groups (those in the high tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands BTC) don't invest/create in a competing ASICS manufacturer?. I can understand that mining activity depends on other factors like cheap electricity, cheap maintenance labour, etc so Chineese pools will always have an advantage there. More so if there is any State support that we are not aware of. But they could compete in mining equiment development/manufacturing. I've read somewhere, probably in this thread, that the Chinese have spent more than 100 millions $ to get there. 100 million$ in development costs or in manufacturing? It's not the same. I am sure they have spent more than 100 million$ in manufacturing but then we will have to take into account their revenue from that spending. What we would need is an estimation of how much i+D investment would be needed to be on par with current Bitmain "state of the art" in asics.

Does the chart look double toppish / top heavy or am I missing something? Technicals look very bearish short term, very bullish long term = Either we're reverting here or it's just a weekend breath. Luckily I sold a couple of coins very near to the last high. https://www.investing.com/crypto/bitcoin

Instead of re-posting this FUD here, why didn't you just reply to this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2040221.msg21238565#msg21238565Note that Blockstream offer all their software patents under the DPL, (modified) IPA, individual licences and have a defensive pledge and that patent is only for sidechains and only in the US. Basically anyone can use that patent but if another group tries to litigate against someone then Blockstream can use it to protect the group(s) using it, if Blockstream ever tried to use that patent "offensively" it would not hold up in court.
Thats very high level because law is not simple but ultimately they are doing as much as they can to keep software development as open and protected from trolls as possible but there will always be people bringing half truths to sell a point like "ermahgerd patent means dey be trying to take ova Bitcoin!!!"

Litecoin LOL
Litecoin has its role: it's the small brother that slowly tries to find its way up. I don't see why Litecoin can't be on the second place in market cap after bitcoin. It think it's way better than many of the coins before. In the end Litecoin, it's just another version of bitcoin. Bitcoin got stopped again on ATH: as I said previously this will not last longer. hold

But I wasn't expecting a surge just now, that's all.
