This is a shocker... who wants to control Bitcoin??   Shocked
I sure hope they fail.

Instead of re-posting this FUD here, why didn't you just reply to this:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2040221.msg21238565#msg21238565

Note that Blockstream offer all their software patents under the DPL, (modified) IPA, individual licences and have a defensive pledge and that patent is only for sidechains and only in the US. Basically anyone can use that patent but if another group tries to litigate against someone then Blockstream can use it to protect the group(s) using it, if Blockstream ever tried to use that patent "offensively" it would not hold up in court.

Thats very high level because law is not simple but ultimately they are doing as much as they can to keep software development as open and protected from trolls as possible but there will always be people bringing half truths to sell a point like "ermahgerd patent means dey be trying to take ova Bitcoin!!!"

Litecoin LOL
Litecoin has its role: it's the small brother that slowly tries to find its way up. I don't see why Litecoin can't be on the second place in market cap after bitcoin. It think it's way better than many of the coins before.
In the end Litecoin, it's just another version of bitcoin.

Bitcoin got stopped again on ATH: as I said previously this will not last longer. Wink

Not that I am going to complain. Litecoin is second in my portfolio. But I wasn't expecting a surge just now, that's all.

I would just say...if I were the US, I wouldn't go buying any green bananas.

Well the North American continent doesn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. lol

The continent will be there but what we currently call the United States as defined by the US Constitution will soon be bankrupt and sold off or taken over by some new regime.

Considering the US debt is $20 trillion with over $100 trillion in unfunded laibilities. The interest on that debt is soon climbing from the 6th largest to the 5th largest spending item close behind welfare and soon to be more than military spending, there is not much the US can do. And they have to borrow money to pay the interest.

When your country's revenue is mainly going to pay the interest on the loans for things you paid for in the past, no amount of shuffling the chairs or budget proposals or tax changes can put you back on the right track.

What happens when the interest on the debt is 90% of the budget? Are people still going to squabble about how much money should go toward food stamps?

I though you were a military contractor elwar.

You should know what militaristic nations like the US tend to do when that happens (any1 remember germany and japan?).

At the end of the day as long as the US has the military means to subdue every opposition in the world debt wont be much of a problem.

Well it doesn't. Not only there are already 2 opponents capable and willing to not take any sh*t from the US, but the US is totally pwned by the joos from a long time, and that's why it's a loose cannon and so self-destructive. So I would not be so confident either in the US or in the survival of the human race.

Same here. Litecoin is the second coin in my vault. I love Litecoin. I believe that it has its place in the crypto space, and a good future. I particularly like its speed (4 times more "beats" than Bitcoin), its very low fees (still), and the willingness of the development team and the community to adopt new technologies, such as SegWit and the Lightning Network.

Speaking of fees, I did a few BCH transactions recently, and noticed the extremely low fees that Bitcoin Cash has. My last one was for 15 BCH and the fee was 0.000001 BCH (approx. $0.0006). As much as I love the original (Core) Bitcoin, I do greatly appreciate the low fees of Bitcoin Cash. The same amount in BTC on the same day cost me $11 in fees (nearly 20000 times higher than BCH).

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Still going sideways... $4358USD/$5438CAD (Bitcoinaverage). Surprisingly Altcoin cash hasn't slipped too much... $619USD/$772CAD (Coinmarketcap).

No weekend fireworks so far. Still have a few days left in the month to get a new ATH in. $5kUSD would be nice.

In 50 (or maybe less) years we can talk about russia and china going against the US.

Right now they are still under control because they neither have the military, economic nor political capacity to fight and win a war against the US.

The gap between the three nations closed but there are still some football fields difference in power.

Putin and Xi publicity accepted several times the role of the US as the world ruling superpower.

Edit

I agree to the second part. Because this development is no secret it will be logical that the US will probally make much more aggressive moves in the future.

Really?

I've read many times both Putin and Xi telling Obama that we're living in a multi polar world and that US establishment still lives in the 90s. May be they have changed their mind  in view of Trump's Make America great again?

Yes and i dont think that contradicts each other much.
Nations should be souvereign and decide for themselfs (that is what russia and china want) but we live in a world where real and geopolitics decides what happens.
Russia and china do the same as the US, just on smaller scale (crimea and scs).
