The man from delMonte says 'No'
https://lists.linuxfoundation.org/pipermail/bitcoin-segwit2x/2017-September/000303.html
Dear all,

On Wayniloans part or our business is achieved thanks to Bitcoin, and on May we agreed to a sentence to reach consensus for the good of the ecosystem. This sentence was later changed to a longer agreement without our notice, and it was known as the New York Agreement (NYA).

At the time we didn't know that existing developers wouldn't support it, or that most Latin American Bitcoin users, our customers, would view it as an contentious proposal.

Also, without mandatory replay protection (not opt-in) on SegWit2x, we wouldn't be able to operate the crypto part of our business without risk of missing funds or legal actions.

So with existing conditions we can no longer be part of what later became the NYA.

best
Juan

So another participant of NYA is leaving this nonsense. Very good!
However I'm sure these guys will hardfork no matter what. And why? 'Cause it's means free money!
It will be another Bcash, mostly used for speculation on several exchanges.
With Bitcoin Gold/Bgold/BTCGPU there will be another 2rd fork of Bitcoin coming pretty soon.
I wouldn't be surprised to see way more hardforks from the top tier coins just to make a quick buck and to get quick attention and liquidity without huge marketing effort. Some kind of new form of ICOs!

I know the feeling bitcorn. I felt sick last week too. I had to stop looking at the price.

Even though my investment was fairly low, the profits are now high.

Maybe I should take out a large percentage of my profits? If I do that and it goes up 400% I am in the same boat. More sickness.

I think I'll do my original plan and hodl for more years. Hopefully this will pay off. I need to forget short term and think long term really.
I thought the same thing. But I chose to HoDL (and keep HoDLing for several more years). My thinking is that if it goes to zero, that's OK, my investment was not big (a few thousand EUR). I won't miss it. I can afford to lose it. My life won't change. On the other hand, what'll happen if I convert it to fiat and then it goes to the moon? I'm sure I'll feel really bad about it, much worse that if I lose my investment. And going to the moon will certainly change my life for the better. It's a risk I'm willing to take.

My suggestion to all BTC owners: HoDL! And if you have the skills & guts, trade a little (not too much). As for me, I don't want to trade because I know I'm not good at it.
I have a close mind set as yours but with a twist Smiley , I always take % (the big part ) from the money I make and leave it as long term investment in BTC and never look at it no matter how low or high the price go I am in it for jackpot not just for some profit . The other % (the small part) of my money I use it to trade and sometime withdraw some if needed .

Ditto. Mined my way out of debt to 💯 BTC. The last 2 years mining profits
above that I live on speculate on new equip, punting down the road, hoping
this kicking can down the road, with that income and equip purchases to keep
IRS happy, and me legal, works out for the income hamster wheel, to keep moving

In other words, gambling on Alts or miners etc and keep hoard in BTC, the hoard in BTC and
alts is all. The rest will be luck and mostly miner rebirth 2018 onward. Or so the bet
And not give 1/2 income from miners to tax man

The income may pan out as a draw for equip with taxes. But I'm having a hell of a lot of fun with
No risk to the hoard. So wtf.

Find a hoard number, you can reach on BTC, then take speculative risks. If BTC works
Long term to say 10k BTC or more, even if speculating and taking income above your number
Will not matter much imho.

John seems to fail to realise that miners can and will be replaced, and mining manufacturers too- it is literally about to happen (Japan for one) we  can live without China, without Bitchmain, without Chinese miners... all of that is replaceable and not just replaceable but with an upgrade (legalised , no bureaucracy in Japan the home of tech - not the imitators - amongst others)

But John seems to think good solid Devs are easily replaceable  and not important.

I look to Every page in here from now When a date is picked first iT cannot been taken again ( 1st =1st)
Another .25 btc is rewarded for ho makes best of technical analyse of the time When we strike ATH.... and Why iT happens at that time.....
So This .25 also only to been payed 1 time .... and not 2 times te same explanation.... (1st =1st)

Both answers to win must been inside before 20-09-2017
Goodluck to the ones that like This

OK I'll try again. I see I didn't search back carefully enough to see that Oct 2, 2017 was already taken when I posted this morning.

For the same reasons, I'll have to take Oct 1,2017 even though it's a Sunday. If it's already gone, I guess I'll have to take Oct 6, 2017 which is the nearest available date following.
____

As a suggestion, if you ever do this again, make a separate thread so it would be easier to see which dates are taken without having to wade through the entire wall observer thread with its walls of text, antisemitic gold buggery and pointless debates.

Youre in So 6/10 iT was right .... ? And next time i would do ...
kindly put me down for 16/11/17 please, thanks goossens

Strange coming from a programmer/developer who made his fortune in software.  Surely he knows that talented developers are only thing distinguishing a promising crypto from endless alt imitators/junks.

Also without decentralization, blockchain is just a stupid distributed database.  Jihan and Roger Ver are the very antithesis of decentralization and someone who will likely one day get bitcoin killed or co-opted by government or banks.

Does this clown have a wife in every state? lol

John M. always reminded me of that Dos Equis guy. But what would happen if "The Most Interesting Man in the World" fell on hard times and became a crime lord.  Grin

It's too bad, he's definitely an interesting character and would make a great bit actor. I could have pictured him playing parts in shows like The Sopranos or Sons of Anarchy.

This has to be trolling, or at least stroking Jihan to get an early shipment. No one who has ever run a venture would put a commodified equipment supplier above the proven creative talent. Not even a meth head.
