I love bitcoin.

Even the BTC market is small, the attempt to manipulate the whole world with one exchange is too ambitious IMHO.

I don't think so. Everybody knows what everybody looks at: price and volume. It is general consensus (wrongfully) that the exchange with the highest volume is the 'leading' exchange.

Both price and volume can be easily faked. Make it onto the generic chart indexers, and you have yourself a perfectly orchestrated fake 'leading' exchange.

Also, notice how nobody is actually able to access btcchina.com at all, apparently for several days now.
volume may be fake, but if you make fake bids, how about they get filled? I never failed in selling my BTC there (now I wish I had failed).
lets ask the Chinese if they think their exchange is fake

HELLO

your MTGOX is the "fake" one.

Seriously, enough with the fake BTCChina thing, I think we have beat this to death already.   Let's just agree that you are right, and not one of 1 billion Chinese has any interest in bitcoin at all.  Roll Eyes

Its easy to fake volume, when many buying chinese, gox whoever create fake/buy sells at higher price. For example most vol around 512 going up simply adding some fake large buy/sell Smiley One way to check is to try and fill say 10,000 btc sell order, today someone sold what 4000 btc in 1 go and price went down to 540 from 900 Roll Eyes

Actually was several orders of 50 to 400 coins that lead the price to 580, the total sum on Gox from 900 to 580 was 12588 coins, it is fine by me. Just a correction.

The fact is we are on a whole new level now, just like in march when we jumped from 20 to 100 we where not used to movements of more that 10 dollars in one day.

Now we are not used to movements of 100 dollars in one day.

If you want to trade the price movement follow a system because our brain is not good for a reference on when to buy and sell.

1000 may be expensive today, but if I tell you that will be 10.000 on 5 years then 1000 is very cheap. So it is not a good reference for us to make decisions.

I'm simply commenting about the rate it is rising. Find one day from 2013 with a 100% rise...

Both Gox and BTCChina have very thick bid orders. High volatility will be expected today. I've put some bids downward and hopefully they get a chance to be filled.

Okay, I will give you that.   Wink  Nov. 18 is one for the history books for sure, though we "only" gained just over 50%.
