Okay opinions aside on the merit in comparing the bid and ask sum, i286 is reporting a different number ($38.2M bid, B41.6K ask) from blockchained (~$34.5M / ~B34K). What's the authoritative source? This was posted earlier, way off, maybe a typo? Or is it in a different currency? Just on MtGox we have $60m in bids....$60k in asks.
I believe it is easy to manipulate the price upwards with low buy volume but try to drop the price by selling...
CMMPro was wrong/trolling, don't know where he got his misinformation . . . You can see the order sum here: http://www.cryptocoincharts.info/v2/pair/btc/usd/mtgox/10-days

i voted 0, but "Bitcoins can't buy happiness" is more precise
buying a few bitcoins has how ever brought much joy into my life, and its not about the profits i made along the way, its the things that i learned about life & myself.
+1 No money can buy happiness (as long as you already have over a certain minimum) http://mindhacks.com/2013/04/02/why-money-wont-buy-you-happiness/Money can't buy happiness but it surely offers you a nice alternative... Good morning people. This is the beginning of a great week!

Gox rescuing the market. Amazing. Have we reached the necessary disconnection from China already?
China hasn't led for a while and I do not think China will lead the next rally. China shot up way too fast and has corrected more severely, not just in % but also in attitude. They will watch to see what Gox does, just like they have almost always (except between $250-$900) since their exchanges opened. China investors/speculators are not betting on Bitcoin ascendance in China, they are betting on its ascendance in the world. They are smart enough to know, that they live in an extreme communist state and that the rest of the world does not operate as they do. They also do not have many options to invest their money in. And they also know that there is a crazy high demand for their ASIC chips. So they will wait and see what the rest of the worlds bitcoin investors do. Meanwhile, I expect they will mostly lag the other exchanges.

Damn it, I need btccharts... Why was it taken down for maintenance instead of just duplicating it and leaving one up?

I think the stagnation is due to that the 'bubble pop' was news-induced and premature. The chart wasn't really in the bubbling phase yet - It was having corrections and tons of support. Then the news caused everyone to panic sell and capitulate as is a bubble had popped, plus all these Chinese who want to exit the market. Meanwhile, there are still tons of buyers. So in this scenario you have both a large buying force and a large selling force, leading to stagnation. Question is which runs out first.

China under 5050, maybe we'll finally see some movement on Gox.
What does the Gox say?

Both support and resistance are so strong that I have a feeling only big news can move us in either direction.
