STOPPPPP!

There is tons of money waiting to buy at these prices, but WE CANNOT GET IT TO THE EXCHANGES.

All this panic does is lead to a longer recovery.

I am boarding a plane for China tomorrow (later today).

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

China didn't move in last 100$ or so of Gox drop.

They have decided to not sell at the "low" exchange rate on BTCN?  Might as well crash the "inflated" foreign markets and figure out how to get fiat out later.

That would mean there are not many of them moving market there as they couldn't all decide to do it at same time.

Ok whos buying?

I've been buying all the way down from 800...  Undecided

Seriously though, sub-500 feels like a good buy to me. We may fall further but I can see this settling around 500-600 after the dust has settled.

I think the Chinese are moving BTC into other exchanges to sell.
This has been my feeling (and fear) and adds a whole new element of uncertainty. Now would be a good time to really know how much of the volume on Chinese exchanges was fake..... how many coins there are to potentially dump.....

Aha!  I always wondered what "panic" looked like in this forum. I am starting to see it. This is a good sign. But we need more blood and guts before we can move on. For right now, the forecasts call for carnage. Hide the women and children.

On the bright side, looks like I will soon be in the 1000 bitcoin club.  Been my goal since the price went up.

I have been buying all the way down as well although I hesitated and missed 480 on Gox.

this is a sobering reminder that bitcoin is not all invincible. people were talking about btc hitting 1400 or 2000 by the end of year.. that does not appear so likely.

For the same reason any market goes up: because it went too low.
