It is only 6am... est in 4 minutes.. but I think alot of people trading aren't ready to see above 1000 again so soon and we will see a lot of resistance.. 970 filled back up after the last burst however we'll just have to wait and see what becomes of this bullish morning Think about the poor souls seeing this after thinking it was soon to test the 700s which I admit could happen at any moment a whale wants it to

"... a european bitcoin foundation is in the making.."
This taken from the french thing going on now? I'm at work, so can't exactly watch it. Glued to this thread for my updates. Yes. They really try to understand all the aspects of bitcoin (and other cryptos). Like the U.S Americans they like to embrace this new opportunity (to attract businesses etc). Very positive and interesting. I hope i can get a transcript of this hearing (anyone got links?)

Ahh ... tracfin guys compares bitcoins to tulips !
President of the commission to "Banque de France" guy : "a deflationary currency, isn't that what you are looking for ?" I think you would know the answer if you were asking someone who works at a central bank

However, that effect seems to be rather subtle. Perhaps it was the non-normal distribution of the changes that made the red curve look different?
[..] from what I understand, the derivative of price does not follow a normal distribution. There are far too many data points with high standard deviations. Instead you need a distribution with so-called fat tails. [/quote] Yes, that is what I mean. I will try to make some plots later today.

The outcome of the Senat meeting is clear. Yet another democratic country that is keen to catch up... very quickly!
And with good reason.

End of the session - they have no idea what to do but acknowledge that doing nothing is not an option.
... and making it illegal is not an option either. Just they don't know if they have to store the bitcoin in an already existing 'class' or if a new 'class' has to be created to store it in. Whatever 'class' means, I don't remember the word the woman used.

I'd like to see some more information about this too i am french, and i was very pleased about that hearing. it seems the politics have finally understood that it is a technology and not just a new 'money' for buying illegal s**t. they grasp the idea that it could give an advantage to the early adopters/regulators. However, i would not hope for more movement for the next couple of years as the government priority is to regulate crowdfunding plateforms for now (yeah that quite late considering US and UK.. and i think that it will be the same for Bitcoin). so no stress, no hurry, no banning on the horizon.. it just gives me a nice step ahead

However, as HSBC and various other criminal banks have shown, if a client is willing to pay for a service, regulations and/or laws is the last thing banks are concerned with, so while the US Congress and Fed dither on how to treat Bitcoin first Wells and soon all other banks will provide some Bitcoin-related services.

Besides - the big news in France today will be which of the president's mistresses is actually the First Lady of France.
Why, the hot young blonde one of course. Ooh la la :D (seriously though, I feel kind of bad for his long term girlfriend) (ha! take that Americans! Our leaders aren't married, they have *girlfriends* and *mistresses*, and we still elect them!) (it also helps that they aren't climate science deniers :D)

Funny you think France is in a better position than America when we're BOTH being lowered into the vat of boiling oil. You via the Euro, us via the Federal Reserve.
