I’m not making a prediction as to direction. This one is 50/50 imho.
Good the 50-50 has chosen my prefered pad....

Last edit: November 28, 2018, 10:57:48 AM by Last of the V8s

Look here McLairy there's fast and then there's hasty
decided not to share that empty Bloomberg rehash of the article I had posted some hours before
and which had been excellently commented on by @ivomm
https://www.bitstamp.net/article/partnership-enhance-customer-protection-and-market/
This is the surveillance stuff that the SEC needs to pass the ETF

https://www.coindesk.com/clayton-sec-ico-funding-security-offering
mentioned here, as well as xrp being a security/needing a lot of info lol
A quote from the interview:
Jay Clayton, chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), said Tuesday that he doesn’t see a pathway to a cryptocurrency ETF approval until concerns over market manipulation are addressed.“How that [manipulation] issue gets addressed, I don’t have a particular path. But it needs to be addressed” before an ETF gets approved, Clayton remarked during CoinDesk’s Consensus: Invest conference.

There has been some progress recently regarding vaneck addressing the manipulation issues. Vaneck declared who are the partners for OTC deals. They will be regulated by CFTC.
https://www.cryptoglobe.com/latest/2018/11/vaneck-subsidiary-mvis-reveals-the-otc-exchanges-behind-the-bitcoin-etf-index/
Circle OTC platform - Circle Trade is one of them. I've read somewhere that currently CFTC is auditing their activity (USDC etc.).

I don't know if Clayton is sincere or he is just hiding behind this 'manipulation' mantra.
1. Vaneck ETF proposal is desinged for accredited, not retail investors.
2. The deals will be made by OTC desks. As noted in the presentation, manipulation of the price of OTC deals is impossible without the participation of the desks themselves.
3. OTC desks will be regulated by CFTC, which already began its work.
4. It is seen in the last months that any rumour about manipulation of Asian usdt exchanges (so far not proven) is punished by the USA exchanges with lower prices.

Finally, it seems that 2 commissioners are for ETF, and in Dec. one more will be replaced. Whatever the staff decides it will be up to him to determine the approval of the ETF.

One way or the other, I think we are going to have an explosive move soon.

Edit:  within 6 hours.

The next 6 hours are critical.  TM  you heard it here, first, and the soonest. tm

Hairy's predictions have been pretty good lately. Cheesy

Better be UP; otherwise, BTC HODLers from this thread may have to put Hairy bairy on a kind of "silent treatment" just to teach him a lesson. Cool

well....it is getting to the point of $1,000 coin (sell it all) or $4,000 coin (sell 1/4th) all comes down to get me by till I can retire in 2.5 years with

my (by then with IMHO coming recession) 1/2 worth traditional investments and social security and Medicare.

Thus, any more dumping is probably 'meh' Smiley I mean if it all goes to sh*t I get enough for above....if it all hangs together I can keep 1/2, 3/4 or the rest

and still, have enough for the above

which is: "I do not want to work for anyone...ever again...."

thus, with my panic 9-year old 13 BTC dump the other day..and LTC dump I can get thru this next  year...so the pucker factor is reduced dramatically

 (whew!)

my fear is that a LOT of people retired on crypto ..likely will have to sell some at least like me...or they had a crypto biz and were their own boss say

the last 2 or 3 years and sure as hell will dump coin...NOT to work for someone again...

damn, there are a lot of moving parts in all this...

brad

It remains kind of tough to give feedback on this kind of thing, because it is really NOT adviseable to be selling on the way down.  ONLY thing is that if you sell 25% at $4k and that would prevent you from selling all of it at $1k (or selling any more on the way down), then that seems to be a better move that might get you back into the right pattern, especially if prices were to go to $1k, then maybe you could use some of the proceeds from the $4k sale to buy back or otherwise just to live with your selling decision no matter which direction the price goes.

naw...covered my ass for the next year...have a side 401k i can tap if it all goes to sh*t and still wait till 66 on traditional inverstments...all in all same buying power I ever had..even if BTC goes tulips

so dumped 13 BTC and LTC to cover this last year before Medicare....just to sleep more soundly....sell some/sell it all/sell whatever...probably is not needed at all anymore...if it is so bad to sell it all covered till retirement...if 1,2,3,4k coin same...was just 2019 that had me puckered up...

it was 200 buck btc anyway...so ...i can't complain Smiley

but as I've said before folks...get your debts paid down, get new tires on the car, do SOMETHING, I've been thru 5 recessions or some such...this next one IMHO will be in 2019 and 40% downturn in my view...if I'm wrong I'm pleasently surprised...if I'm right my coping mechanism is in full form

hopefully BTC will act as a store of value and go up a bit or at least sideways

so anyway, I'm good now till under $1k BTC and then I'd be so pissed I'd likely HODL anyway...just out of pure hatred and bile spite....man that would piss me off Sad

damn brave a person is..when 2019 is covered 'in cash' ....and retirement is secure....work is evil!

edit: but yeah I should have sold higher....(or if this is the high...I sold just right ....shudder.....)

on that you are correct..I should have 'panic'd like a 9-year old girl at around 8.5k BTC Sad

Thanks for sharing. I overshare. But it helps me think. Is that selfish of me?

Hemingway used a lot of truncated sentences. It's very manly.

Not claiming to have all the wisdom here, but theres something i really dont understand....

When at 20k, we drop to 15, all say its just a dip. Small rise comes.
When at 10k, all are nervous, hey, its just a dip. Small rise comes.
When we're at 6K all are nervous, talking about the bottom, bla bla, bulls are coming etcetera. Small rise comes.
When we're at 4k, all is in panic, we're doomed, Aahhhh, its just a dip. Bulls are coming. Small rise comes.
When we're at 3.5K, doomsday is prepped, BTC is dead, etcetera. Aahh, its just a small dip, bulls will come. Small rise comes.

Now, we're at around 4k, and all are euphoric as the bulls are back yeeeeeee, we're at 4k... NOW the bulls will come! Xcuse me? Huh

When i look at myself personally, i would talk about a bullrun just when we are going to 8k or higher again... What i see corrently, is just volatility. But then again; i have no clue about volumes, trades, orders, short, long etetera... Its all quite confusing, and sometimes my feelings are opposite to whats written here. (not taking some asses in regard, i just ignore those...)

Anyone care to explain your ways of seeing things a bit?

Oh, and i couldnt make anything out of the hat's... I've been lurking around here for almost a year now, reading most of the post', sometimes skipping 10-20 pages....  Cool

Within the realm of speculation, it doesn't hurt to say such things, because such things could end up becoming true, even though the odds might not be high.

The bulls are coming.  It’s just they are a bit nervous. So they have decided to wait until after World Vegetarian Day. Which is on 1 October 2019.

You use a lot of "we"s in your post, but only a real "we" can wear a hat... You don't seem like a real "we" especially with your ongoing bitcoin pessimism...  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Miners could lose even more money if the price goes lower the minimum dip we had but it's just a factor.

I can spot an inversion of the trend but it's just at the beginning, especially because I don't think this end of the year will be "linear" as the previous one.

Let's see what happens Smiley
