The thing that really piss me off is thinking about the immense profits calvinayre/CSW have probably made shorting BTC from 6400. We won't be getting rid of those assholes in a VERY long time.

I see most everyone here is bearish.

So I need to ask, how many of you have basically hodl from the ATH till now.

I will start: I have basically hodl all the time and the little in comparison that I was selling I used to rebuy in the way down. Not a single $ withdraw back to my bank account, not now, neither in 2013/14. Of course I could easily withdraw the total I invested right now if I wanted to, obviously I am not underwater at all, but that's not the question.

I would like to get a better picture of what the average situation is in that regards.

I sold some on the way up but not much this year..

Accumulated in the $250-$1900 range.
Sold some on the way up largest chunk at $3,800 some higher in hindsight too early but I did ok.

Still hold just shy of 50% of my peak BTC holdings. I am short term bearish but not selling at these prices.

Current conditions remind me of the slow crash following the decline from $1000 to around $300. I suspect further capitulation spikes down followed by a long grind and slow climb out that I think will take as least as long as that earlier recovery and probably longer.

I won't be selling more because I think the long term future is very bright, but if I needed the money in the next 24 months I would probably sell what I needed on Monday or Tuesday evening asap but not during a holiday weekend crash.

Just my thoughts but I am no expert.

If it drops to $2k I’m going to sell everything I own to buy btc.

Well, with btc at 2K Van Ecks ETF would be only $50K/share.
also, i think at bakkt the minimal purchase is 10 btc equivalent, so $20K.

Not liquid enough for me and requires a level of trust. A nice cold wallet stuffed with coin will do the trick.

BTC Holders has, is currently, and will suffer tragic things this year.

1st, last November 5th is a commemoration of the release of BTC which should be a "happy" moment for BTC holders but many people who are unhappy seem. 2nd, now is November where BTC reaches the highest price that occurred last year, and now it's inversely proportional. 3rd, of course last year's Xmas holiday is more fun. Maybe this year's Xmas and New Year holidays we won't be outside the house, just look at "red candles" as xmas gifts and do this ...

for year-end holidays

This is my plan actually, well, with wife's permission.

We'll empty our bank accounts again to change it to Btc. Live off with our paychecks like we used to.

Planning to snatch 2-3k btc off manipulators.

Yeah...agreed. Would be nice to get a view of their positions before their FUD releases. Then again, a lot of people are getting Bitcoin for cheap as a result. Time for Bitcoin to save the world!

Trying to time the bottom is  not smart.  Those calling for 2k prices will most likely be left behind and won't buy until the bulls come back and the fomo kicks in.  Always cost average.

Thanks for the detailed reply. Yeah, what you say is perfectly reasonable among the possible scenarios.

Also it seems, that even if you sold some substantial part of your stash on the way up, you mostly didn't take advantage of the opportunity of $10K+ to $19K... as I suspect is the case of most here.

A bit too risky of a move to me, Never get the wife in a position to fucking hate and resent you if shit goes sour. Too little to gain for risk and reward.

I now know for a fact that you’re currently married or divorced because you understand the game. No amount of money in the world can make up for living in hell.

So I need to ask, how many of you have basically hodl from the ATH till now.

Sodl two batches on the way down from the ATH to fund my early retirement.

Have not sodl anything since late January 2018.

I did originally plan on dumping at least another $1M before December 31st, but not at these prices.

Looking to buy at least another 200 BTC if the price drops below $1k.

Yeah, I know. I think your case is one of the most detailed during the past year. I would say you did pretty well, not only because of your more than healthy stash, but the timing of the sells, while not perfect, was pretty good in hindsight. IIRC you sold your first batch at around $17K which is as close as the ATH as it can be.

Your accomplishment is inspiring and VERY instructive. Congrats again Smiley

P.S.: Interesting to know that you have plans to even rebuy what you sold if the price drops so much, but.... considering the size of your remaining stash, don't you think if that happens ($1000) you would be so pissed off that last thing you would do is rebuy more? Just asking....

I hear you, but there is a question of using IRA funds.
I can use some currently unneeded IRA funds (maybe in 5%-10% area) to buy into ETF and/or Bakkt (that would be settled daily into physical btc).
I don't want to buy any more stocks or bonds, lol.

Also for the married guys, lol.  Who the F#$@ gets married.?

In 2015 it didn't matter if you bought at $150 or $300 provided you hodled. There were "experts" advising waiting untill double digits before buying.

Buying in at today's price is better than buying in at $20000.

I don't see why a male with common sense would get married, makes absolutely zero sense.

Only guys I know that get married are true betas that worship women.

Mainly because it gives me someone to shoot my cum in to that I don’t have to pretend to like.

It sounds like you have tax concerns. That would be a good reason to do it. I’ve just been around here so fucking long that I have absolutely no trust in any one that runs any business even remotely connected with bitcoin. Too much water under the bridge dude.

Can’t believe this, there’s no real reason for this kind of dumping. Down nearly 40% in a month. At this rate I just don’t know how low we can go.

This is really hard watching your investment turn to shit.

I’m not selling though.

This morning opened my eyes to 3.6k weeee

At this point I would rather take my coins to my grave than selling.
