The Dutch East India Company was the largest company in history. Also the first company trading stocks at the Amsterdam stock exchange.

The company was as large as 20 of our largest companies combined, it was as large as the GDP of Germany and Japan together.

Amazing achievement from this tiny country.

I am sorry, but it makes no sense.

Dutch east india company profits were:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dutch_East_India_Company
Quote
"the long-term average annual profit in the VOC's 1630–70 'Golden Age' was 2.1 million guilders, of which just under half was distributed as dividends and the remainder reinvested. The long-term average annual profit in the 'Expansion Age' (1680–1730) was 2.0 million guilders, of which three-quarters was distributed as dividend and one-quarter reinvested. In the earlier period, profits averaged 18 percent of total revenues; in the latter period, 10 percent. The annual return of invested capital in the earlier period stood at approximately 6 percent; in the latter period, 3.4 percent."

According to the following 1 guilder was either about $12-15 or $100 (or, maybe, fluctuated between these two with $12-15 being more reliable (later) number.
https://lensonleeuwenhoek.net/content/what-was-guilder-worth

Therefore, 2.1 mil guilders yearly profit is just $32-210 mil in CURRENT buying power.
NO way $32-210 mil in profit can get you ANYTHING close to trillions that you quoted, unless something is wrong with value calculation.
Besides, the population of earth was just 500mil back than. Not enough people to get to the valuation that high.

TL;DR this valuation is a MYTH.

I appreciate your additional information provided but this is no MYTH.

You can clearly see at the images i posted about the companys total value. It says nothing about how much profits they'd made.

Amazon reached in 2018 a $1 trillion valuation. Apple market capitalization past $1 trillion.

You get merit points when someone likes your post enough to give you some. And for every 2 merit points you receive, you can send 1 merit point to someone else!

Where am I supposed to jerk off now?

If enough people ejaculate from the pavement through the window into customer eyes, mouths and cups then I predict the policy will be eased.

You know what your duty now consists of.

Out of sMerit but would have sent +1 for making me laugh Cheesy

Had no idea, Binance stopped serving Iranian customers on the 15th. Today also they cut off Byelorussian, Serbian and Bosnian ip's, due to 'sanctions'. https://bitnovosti.com/2018/11/30/binance-prekrashhaet-rabotat-s-polzovatelyami-iz-belorussii-serbii-i-bosnii-iz-za-sanktsij/
Seems to have been without much/fair warning.

I noticed that i got a lot of merits to spend. Going to donate them more frequently.

I barely read other subs, only straight to the WO.

So that means spending them to all of you guys Shocked

I'll start this weekend giving all users on this page 1 merit, a little cheer up in this bear market.

Edit: In a rush i accidentally donated V8 2 merrits. Lucky guy.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

I see we've slipped back down to where we were the day before yesterday and we're back to scrapping over $4k... currently $4020USD/$5355CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

I don't have to sell any Bitcoin until April/May (I hope) and I'm expecting a chunk of cash around the end of January so sideways suits me okay for now but a nice little price rise would pick up the mood around here.

Guys, don't look for excuses.
CME impact on the #Bitcoin market is irrelevant.

Oh hey cool thanks very much Paashaas.
Appreciate the merits and your posts.
Despite my seeming good numbers, I rarely have any in stock.

Still using my avatar I see, you damn hat jacker!

Just finished watching the Coingeek conference. I am surprised Craig didn't claim to be satoshi, they mentioned satoshi many times in front of him. Was expecting a pump in Bitcoin SV but so far nothing has happened I guess no one believes them.
