My Christmas wishes re bitcoin in 2019:

1. No ETF. Why? Because institutions are losers who don't give a s-t about bitcoin as an idea. Same for retirees. Watch them scramble to alternative assets once their asses would be on the line due to the downturn.

2. No bakkt. Why? Because bakkt will manifest custodial holding, hopothecation, rehypothetication, same as gold. Garbage! We don't need it. We do not need custodial solution when blockchain is the most secure custodian EVER.

3. No bitmain. I hope that they piss off and/or go bankrupt.

4. Yes 10X, maybe even 100X growth of Lightning.

5. Yes to more people participating in bitcoin.

6. Yes to more self-organization of the bitcoin crowd. We need it to survive potential fiat calamities. Do I want gold? Nope.

I agree with everything but LN. Sorry, but keeping my funds in a hot wallet is not the best security.

Does the seller side has to have the bitcoins when the contract is made?

No. That's the whole idea behind "regulated" bitcoin markets. You don't need to have a single satoshi to sell thousands of bitcoins and suppress price.

Bankers think that bitcoin ETFs will solve bitcoin supply "problem".

When the contract expires seller has to anyway have to get the coins from somewhere to be able to sell them to the buyer?

Nope. Actual delivery of bitcoins is forbidden. Just like in gold futures and ETFs. At the expiry date profit/loss is cleared through the seller's margin deposit which is in dollars. If the seller is systemically important bank and they did the wrong bet Fed will print new dollars and will give them to pay for their loss.

The buyer side was there to buy some bitcoins. If he will not have them, what will he have? The dollars?

The contract said for example buyer will buy three bitcoins for price 3500$ per one coin which is total 10500$. But the day price is 4500$ per bitcoin which is total 13500$. So the buyer will have 3000$ for bank account?

Yes, buyer will have $3000 credited to their margin deposit/bank account.

Regulated bitcoin markets are not for trading bitcoins but for bets on the future bitcoin price. Profit/loss resulting from those bets is paid in dollars. So, if you have unlimited access to the dollar printing press you can sell 21 million bitcoins without having a single satoshi.

Ouch, that 15 minute candle must have schooled some bottom shorters. Bears getting rekt in a bear market; it just isn't right.  Cry

First I've heard of it. He must be holding it back.

In that case we're all going to have to send some sperm to a PO box, purchase a nice third world lady, get her to do the turkey baster thing and we'll raise the child on here. The sperm will be mixed up rather like a firing squad so we're all the father and not.

We used to have bitcoinchick and bitcoinchick's husband, but husband cashed out the bitcoins when the price went down from $600 to $200, and even though they might have bought some back, they have not really been active in the thread, so any babies seem to be "off thread" and perhaps even only marginally bitcoin induced.   Shocked

But look how thin on the sell side of the real orderbooks are on exchanges.   Took less than 2k BTC to push the price up >500 Dollars on Finex.   So, all this dumping is pure price suppression.     Looking there is less than 1k BTC to buy up to over 4k dollars.  No one is really selling at this price just the exchange bots on a rampage.

I feel a bit more warm and fuzzy about Hueristic, after reading this post, even though s/he/it has been posting some decently sized nonsense in recent times.   Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

ROTFLMFAO, JJ I post to amuse, whether it be myself or others.
Never take what I say to heart, it's always in jest and good fun. Wink

Always?  Never?  hm?  Hopefully you are not that locked down into your own ways of being, otherwise I am going to be forced into referring to you as a bot...  Tongue Tongue Tongue    and perhaps even a seemingly emotional reactive one, for whatever that is worth.   Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

2True, a quote of mine below.

NEVER speak in absolutes as if you do you are ALWAYS wrong. Cheesy

Heightened sense of smell is the bane of my existence.  Some colognes and perfumes give me an instant headache.  Those so-called air fresheners are just fuckin killer for me - they are not fresh at all.  My wife refrains from wearing perfumes and I love her for that.

Some anatomy: the sense of smell is the only sense which is being transmitted directly to your brain cortex without going through thalamus (as all other senses).
Smell goes straight up (no pre-processing).
Humans typically have 5-6 mil olfactory (smell) receptors while dogs have  220-300 millions.
Typically, we can't smell much (compare to dogs).

I have a rather bad (low) smell perception, but every time before I have a headache, I feel weird smells. It has been going on since I was in my twenties, so quite a while.

The greatest remedy against all annoying and persistent smell sensations is to put your nose into a jar of coffee and whiff a couple of times.
It works 100% and is used in perfume salons for a reset.

I love the smell of fresh coffee!  I'll have to walk around with a small jar of fresh ground and see if that helps me out.
Thanks for the information; wish I had some sMerits left to give.
