Is this the start of a bull run to $100k or a fake one?

It is probably the latter but who knows... this is bitcoin. Anything can happen.

No, we are not going anywhere near $100K in THIS bull run. I am not even sure this is a proper bull run -probably not-. But it is a nice and refreshing poomp anyways.

Anything can happen though. But don't count on it.

A bitcoiner is against turning the true nature of bitcoin, into whats becoming core-centric, commercialised network crap.
Bitcoin was born to get away from that crap of centralist capitalism, and yet stupid people want it to bcome the same crap as what was available before 2009.

Deburden the bitcoin network. by promoting other networks, altcoins, central services is not a Bitcoiner.

LN is just the same as 0 confirmation on Bitcoin network, instant and same level of trust,

We've been warned you're a troll/BCH shill by some of our keenest member, but it's not always possible to be on the lookout for bullshit, so here's a hint for newer WO participants or budding troll hunters/shill shredders.

I used red to mark, well, red flags. Those who use such terms to describe LN are easily indentified as pests. LN isn't either core-centric, or about an altcoin, or centralized. Future developments might head towards the growth of larger nodes run by entities with significant cash flow (i.e., exchanges), but it hasn't happened yet, and I doubt it will be a hindrance. On the contrary, it will provide welcome bidirectional liquidity to the network. It is always possible to route around such nodes, if the rest of the network is sufficiently connected.

I used the brown color for its likeness to human feces. Or bovine feces, more appropriately. It's plain verifiable bullshit. Every edge traversed in the LN requires cryptographic proof. Unverified/unconfirmed? Quite the opposite. Look and smell, young friends. That's how it feels when someone is spreading bullshit all over the place.

Which LN client do you think is the best choice at the moment?

Started out with c-lightning, but switched over to the official LND as it's more stable, IMO.

https://github.com/lightningnetwork/lnd

just do it. every WO hat should run a lightning node. I ordered mine last week. was considering to publicly announce that everytime a fuckin´big blocker posts in the WO thread I will order a casa node.

Thanks for the info (Bawb) and the encouragement (0.6 kW). Two sMerits deservedly gone  Wink
Yeah lightning nodes are something we should all do. I'm donating a Pi to my church but I need to setup the other one for a lightning node while I'm at it. What was the file size required for that again?

If you mean the disk space needed it's around 200gb (230-250?) a 500gb hdd/ssd should be enough then. That's for the blockchain how much more for the Lightning server I have no idea...

Never trust someone with dickface characters for his name, they do that so others can't easily warn each other of what a douche they are.

Beartrolls hit in the balls by the flow of anti-FUD and BTC price rising so they have to use that unspent amount of shit to spill on something and this time it's Lightning...

We will probably be back to the 6000's, but there will be resistance around 5k, maybe five or six weeks swinging on it.

At least, this will confirm that 3000 was the real bottom, and price cant go down any further. It will be more safe to buy, I guess.

Lightning Network breaches the 700 BTC mark in terms of network capacity... and it's all thanks to pizza of course !

https://ambcrypto.com/bitcoins-btc-lightning-network-breaches-the-700-btc-mark-in-terms-of-network-capacity/

"The total capacity of the LN has increased to an all-time high of ~703 BTC, worth a huge $2.75 million. This all-time high comes from a total of 28,105 channels [at the time of writing].

The number of channels for the LN has seen a 35.2% increase within a span of a month, while the number of nodes on the LN has gone up by 15.32% and is currently at 6,400 nodes. The number of active nodes was 3,312, almost half the total number of nodes.

The number of active nodes for the LN has also seen an increase of 20.17% in the last 30 days. However, the number of new nodes added within a span of 24 hours has decreased by 7.32% and is currently at 37.

Additionally, a node on the LN for pizza delivery has been gaining a lot of traction and growing rapidly. About  150 people bought pizza using the Lightning Network nodes [called Lightning Network Pizza/LN.Pizza] and the number keeps growing without any sign of stopping. However, the facility to order pizza using LN is currently restricted to the United States alone."

Going to break 4k, are we?

Didn't we already do that a month or so ago?
I fail to see the wow factor in that, just normal volatility.
It's because we're showing more evidence of it reversing.

Nah, it's too early for that, we have several more months sideways to look forward to.
I'll be glad if I'm wrong, but I'm probably not.

I would say you are both right and wrong Wink

We have bottomed and yes we have several more months of sideways.

pish tosh

I would say you are both right and wrong.

You are right about the sideways.

But there's plenty of room yet for a stab down to the dark side.

I'd even prefer it that way.

I'll bet you a litecoin?

I will take it if Hairy won't.

I will wager 1 LTC we have already seen the bottom of this bear market.  That is, it will not go lower than 3122.

Suggest period of wager is until Dec 31 2019, or we go over 7500 on Stamp in USD (or under 3122) - whichever is sooner?

Edited for clarity.

I will take the bet of 1 LTC that the bottom was $3122 on above terms or whatever else makes sense!

Then I should stand aside, as it was offered to you.  Unless V8 wants to offer it to me, too...   I don't mind, of course.

just do it. every WO hat should run a lightning node.

I was seriously considering proposing a "WO Lightning Channel Crew" thread - discuss making public and private channels between ourselves. Discuss game theory, etc.

Ultimately recognized it would not be possible to do so without breaking OpSec due to needing to expose an IP. Not willing to risk that, at this time.

I don't use TOR for performance reasons.

If you become a "trusted (LOL)" Guard Node then I think your performance will be just fine on the tor network.
