Ops of the day:

Bitmain lost $150,000 because it mined an invalid Bitcoin block

Quote
Bitmain lost $150,000 because it mined an invalid Bitcoin block
Bitmain-owned mining pool Antpool appears to have squandered at least $150,000 worth of Bitcoin mining rewards, reports BitMEX Research, the analytic arm of cryptocurrency exchange BitMEX. … (link: https://ift.tt/2G8BEjp) ift.tt/2G8BEjp

Quote
According to BitMEX Research, the Bitcoin network denied Antpool’s block as it featured an erroneous coinbase transaction.
Instead of 12.5 BTC, whoever mined the block seems to have requested a reward of 13.26 BTC ($154,700). This appears to equal the correct coinbase transaction (12.5 BTC) plus the sum of the associated transaction fees.
“The coinbase value was too high, presumably because this included the transaction fees, but due to some error the transactions themselves were not included,” tweeted BitMEX Research.

Well, this is an invalid block, so a block that was rejected by bitcoin nodes and then not appearing on the blockchain. That's a different mishap than mining a VALID block, but forgetting to claim the coinbase! (true sotry:  Will there be 21 million bitcoins eventually?)

As seen by my node:

Drinking Lambrusco is pretty much on par with drinking urine, isn't it? Take pee, dilute it, add sugar and carbonate it. Yuck.

What's next? Sparkling rose?

It's an offense to even call it wine.

I didn’t check personally, but I would prefer Lambrusco, for sure.

Having lived in California for much of my life, I miss a good red wine. I moved right when I was becoming a mature enough adult to really value the complex notes and subtleties of a slightly aged cab. In Asia, almost everything wine-related is a generic "red" or "Shiraz" from Australia, which is kind of a shit grape.

As far as "wine" goes, real men drink soju, or sake if you're Japanese.

Boy you wan't some good red wines, EU an't that bad as well.... yeah thursday is becoming @the movies day and before going to have a bite to eat of-course, that said I will annoy some in here and order myself a rosé wine with 1 ice-cube in it, better order to cause one will be for the thirst and the next one for its taste  Tongue

I have to say saké ain't my drink, maybe I have to drink a few more and learn its taste but first experiences where not that great also last time in that resto with my Bday they served a saké with a dish and I still didn't liked it Roll Eyes

Like the time I told you it would hit 3 to 4k?

Then you deleted all your old posts?

I don't delete my posts.... You sure do like to make shit up, jonoiv, so I wonder how much credibility you actually have, either here or in the real world?

I already get a sense that here only trolls or shills might give you much if any credibility.

Regarding the real world, can people rely upon your representations about history or about what you are going to do or are you just making shit up on a constant basis?

Seems pretty likely that $13k is going to fill in later, but Jesus Fuck, it is even possible that we never return to these prices...  ever, ever, again...

Hey in the new poll, my preferred choice of $22,000 to $24,000 is missing

That makes sense and even sounds reasonable, which would be approximately a 4x price increase from our current $13,333 price (about $50k per coin).

Whatever you fucking charlatan.

I noticed while picking out a few times you've been spot off, you do like accuse other of being trolls.  For someone that doesn't have the best track record of spotting the big drops. or even where the bottom will be, you do seem to point the finger a lot.

The Chairman of United States central bank when asked about Bitcoin:

"They use it as a store of value...like Gold....that's not to say we won't see it & if we do see it yes you could see a return to an era in the US when we had many different currencies..."

[edited out]

Whatever you fucking charlatan.

I noticed while picking out a few times you've been spot off, you do like accuse other of being trolls.

Huh?  you don't know what the fuck you are talking about.  Even though I might make statements about where the price might go, those are not predictions you dumb fuck... they are statements of hope, with a decent understanding that it may or may not happen.

So, if you invest in something you should hope that the price goes up... are you fucking retarded?  (no need to answer that one, its a rhetorical question...  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy)

For someone that doesn't have the best track record of spotting the big drops. or even where the bottom will be, you do seem to point the finger a lot.

There may be a bit of truth in what you say, even if your tone is way off and your expectations are looney.   I can spot BIG drops, after they happen.  I don't know if they are going to happen in advance.

You're like a cheating husband that constanly accuses the wife for fucking arround.

Are you trying to play into the #metoo# crowd?

EDIT: feel free to go through all my posts if nothing else it'll keep you from shitposting for a few mins

Why would I want to waste anytime looking through your historical posts.  Likely you edited or deleted your posts anyhow.  Frequently, diptwats have inclinations of accusing others of what they have done.. and you like to get caught on tangents, anyhow.

By the way, you seem to be attempting to bolster your credibility, and the only thing that seems to be positive is that you might have been providing some archival work regarding some historical posts that only marginally matters when it comes to our current discussions.. and your obvious hopiums that the BTC price will fall at least to below $6k in order that you can buy back your measely .5BTC.... or whatever it is.

I final point is that I don't really change my strategy, even from a few years back.  I sell if the BTC price goes up and I buy if the price goes down.... Of course, I prefer if the BTC price goes up, but my strategy does not change too much, at least in respect to my NOT really playing BIG or gambling on either direction except for long term expectations that  BTC will be worth more in the future than it is today, especially if we are looking at least 5 years in advance.

C'mon, Jono, be a good dog.

That's a shorter version of what I am trying to say.   Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I have been told it's highly unlikely.

Mainly because when they confiscated BTC from crimes, the U.S. Marshals auctioned it.
If they confiscate cocaine, they don't auction it, but they destroy it.

This is something that prevents banning possession of Bitcoin in the US: this would require getting to the Supreme Court.
Very unlikely.

So it looks like I may be getting my .04 BTC back from MtGox.

Do tell?

I got an e-mail from whatever MtGox trustee with a bunch of legal BS. I kinda ignored it all before because it was "only" .04 BTC and it is highly likely that the value they would compensate me for would be at the fiat value back in 2013.

Who knows. I responded to the e-mail giving them consent to do whatever they explained in the e-mail. Maybe I'll get $40.

I think I'm on 3 or 4 times with Alita, your right it is a great flick. Smiley

I dug it too but one thing I don't like about any film is when they assume they're going to get a sequel and do nothing to resolve the existing story. That was a poor show on their part.

Unfortunatelty that seems to be the way they all work now. Sad

Hey guys I just signed up for Paxos for a fiat portal so I'll let you guys know how it works.

Here is your "Fucking" Answer

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5159331.0

Hello dear Cryptonians

I am here to ask for Motivation and wellwisher charm, we will help Crypto be more widespread and adopted. I have had alot of influence in the past BTC Rally as i put Bitcoins name in the most popular YouTube & News Livestreams so as you have used the search engine and typed in Bitcoin the first thing that poped up was Bloomberg Global news ( You know that this was a great influence ) and various other places that had a nice influence over the globe. So we talked about BTC with Consumers everywhere we could in a positive manner, but we stopped as soon $15,000.00 hit and we partialy cashed out because we did not have much BTC and the BTC we cashed out was very welcome. But so did many others on the behalf of our hard work and dedication(not that i invy or anything i just want to point out) and we asked anything in return, as we quit doing it we were thinking that doing it once will be enough to keep BTC Rising in Value and Adoption while other groups will carry our torch.. At that time we did it for everyone and  free of charge. Now we need motivation to do it again ! I have made a plan how to do it and where to do it very effectively! The Motivation we need as a whole team is 50 BTC(10 BTC per Person) and we will dedicate our 1 Year of life or abit more to Promote and Market BTC also other Wonderful Projects All over the Globe (+ working 1 year / 24/7 is exhausting) (+ We need abit of funds for this project to work as we will use an old technique aswell ETC.). We promise success as our methods are very unorthodox and influencing ! But i can not share any information on how we are going to do it as we might get Zuckerberged ( I hope you understand what i mean by that ) but i can share after the 50 BTC is collected. Every labour has to be paid in this day and age as nothing is free and we are not robots =) ! So this is the motivation we need and we will do our job as best as we can that BTC will be more distributed, adopted and widely used. It will take 1 Year or abit more to achieve the desired effect and price.

When we were at work Coinbase transactions were flooded and every Alt that is a good project Benefited aswell.

Yes the stakes are high but i promise we will make it worth it as i am in the Promo & Marketing Business for over than 9 years !!

As soon as we gather 50 BTC we will begin our job in maximum effort mode !

I hope this finds you well and without ill judgement as our intentions are pure.
Together we will reach new hights !!

Kind Regards Bitcointalk

Cryptonian
