COVBULL-19 hasnt even killed 5000 people yet in about 2.5 months. 200,000 babies were born today.

I could be wrong, but imho, this is gonna go down in the history books as one of the greatest overreactions of all time.

https://www.globaltrademag.com/the-spanish-flu-and-the-stock-market-the-pandemic-of-1919/

"the impact of the Spanish Flu on the stock market was minimal. If you look at the Dow Jones Industrial Average in 1918 and 1919, you can see that the stock market was relatively unaffected by any of the three waves of the Spanish flu. "

This is a sign of the times. Almost everybody is ready to freak out about anything. The media and politics have exploited and built the fear in folks so much to manipulate them, now it swings back. They just overdid it. Poor panicky people, i can feel for them, really. puppets on strings.

The problem isn't the kill rate.

The problem is the virus slows down the economy.

People won't die from the virus, they'll die from hunger.

The whole crux about explained in two sentences. Chapeau!

"At it's height, COVID-19 infected .006% of the Chinese population.  And it had a big head start before draconian prevention measures were put into place.  It may have been spreading for months before anyone knew it existed.

.006% of the US population is 21,000."

Quoting for around 3/27. Feel like making a bet on how things will develop?

I would be willing to bet you by 3/27 that Covbull deaths have not reached 90k which is about what worldometer has for the flu deaths so far this year.

Giving covbull 2 weeks to catch up should be childs play if its really all that deadly and infectious with no vaccine.

I'm starting to get the spamverts thinly veiled as "we are here for you/what to do in the event of" Coronavirus emails from sources other than gov't and work. Any excuse to email spam blast advertisements. Great to know that I can (still) monitor my accounts online and I of course couldn't wait to hear about their new financial services products, sign me up!

 Cheesy

Makes you wonder about Greta Thunberg. She must really hate COVID-19.

It knocked her right off of the front pages. Now all the worrywarts have something else to fuss about.

I suppose she has a field day, knowing that the planet will shed a lot of (polluting) human lives.

The cited number was 21k. It should be about there. And if it does, then it will be over 100k a few weeks later.

Cross-posting here to notify WO capwearers:

Could capwearers please make the effort to save their avatars as png (rather than jpg or whatever) in order to make them transparent? You know who you are.
I feel like this is a bit of issue. I'm tempted to start a campaign PMing users from the WO thread, leaving neutral trust where appropriate if gang etiquette isn't being followed.
I think we need to smarten up the mother gang. Bitcoin's falling, a bit of professionalism wouldn't go a miss right now, otherwise we all look like noobs.
I'm trying to say you make us all look bad with your unnecessary white space background behind your caps, in case it wasn't obvious  Tongue

Thoughts?

Btw, the gleaming bright side to all of this crap:

Once this bear market is over (in all markets) and has bottomed, we won't see this type of thing again for a VERY long time.

Mark my words, we'll have another ten year epic bull run that will defy all gravity, logic, and common sense.

The Fed will make sure of it.

I've been wondering about that. How long will 0% interest rates and QE keep working? It seems we get diminishing returns from that nonsense.

That's what I meant when I said they're running short of ammunition. Going into negative rate territory doesn't help as much as lowering positive rates. Print as much as you like, sooner or later the rubber band snaps.
