So far this price increase hasn't caused Bitfinex swap rates to increase. You can still get swap for as little as 0.165%/day. This is different from the rate spikes that we commonly see.
Probably a lot of swaps closing out that were a little under water, happy to break even or make a small profit. Unlikely. Would you close a long position when it was going through the roof? I'm thinking people are going long with money that was just sitting around. A small number may have taken out loans in advance. And this is a joint effort across the markets (several minutes ago Bitstamp was consisently $1-$3 ahead of Bitfinex). Also people might be acting cautious as there isn't much real news on the auction. You may be right.

i still can't get over how many people were thinking the coins would go for below market... The result of the auction had to be positive because it showed whales were interested in Bitcoin and it was good press as well Its July? And no $10 coins? How can this be, the prophet was wrong?? Many people have been wrong on Bitcoin and many people are still wrong but we are getting there

Again, where is 30,000 coming from? They had 48,013 BTC of bids..
So, they had 16 bids.. (48,000 for 30,000 bitcoin)
I guess what matters here is wether or not the 20M includes the obvious 18,000 that didnt win (0% chance for them to win, before results were out). I dont see why it WOULDNT include that.
So, $20,000,000/48,000 = $416.67
still, not one single bid of them got accepted. this is a pretty strong signal!

What I don't get is there's a lot of opposition to putting it in water supplies yet never any discussion on not adding it. I keep hearing this teeth argument but if the damn stuff is already in toothpaste then there's no need to add it to the water supply. Also, aren't there laws against medication without consent? EDIT: Shit, wrong thread haha F that fluoride man
