That zerohedge article seems actually surprisingly believable... I hate to say.

I feel like since 2008 the fed has been trying to play the entire economy like one of those single-plot-line RPG games in which you are given blatantly obvious hints of what to do while simultaneously trying to make you feel like you decided to do it.

BIS: Hey there's  a bubble...
FED: Yeah toootally a bubble...
BIS: You should pop it...
FED: NO! Why would we ever want to do that
FED: Its the market participants job to do that
FED: You hear that market participants?
BIS: ...
FED: Also we're not making our intentions clear either so yeah you're out of luck.

Brock Pierce, notable member of The What-Was-It Foundation, launches RealCoin:
http://blogs.wsj.com/moneybeat/2014/07/08/dollar-backed-digital-currency-aims-to-fix-bitcoins-volatility-dilemma/

Jesus H, why hasn't anyone kicked this loser Brock Pierce off of the Bitcoin Foundation yet?  Hasn't he caused enough controversy yet?

Also, how do you have a Realcoin backed to every dollar when there are $65 billion of them (dollars, that is) printed fresh every month?  Are they going to 'print' 65 billion Realcoins every month too?

Stupidest. Crypto. Idea. Evar.

You give them your dollars, they give you the realcoins. Then 5 years down the line, they revalue or say that they're no longer backing the coin with dollars (like the US govt did with gold) but they're still worth a dollar. Then everyone else kicks themselves for being so stupid and Brock Pierce puts on his scuba gear and goes for another dive off his yacht anchored in the Caribbean.

i find that pretty hilarious.. most people who use bitcoin like it for NOT being backed or tied to dollars. and now this guy provides something that is tethered to $USD. i think one common thing that all investors can agree on is: nobody is completely comfortable putting their faith into government-backed cash.

My walrus says another 2 weeks tops, and we'll break $700.
It could be much sooner though.........
My mercat says we should expect a movement either up or down in the next 24 hours, unless we trade sideways.

“Adding bitcoin as a payment option and instant pre-approval for car loans are the next logical steps for Beepi, a company founded with a goal of eliminating friction at every step of the buying and selling process,” Tuesday’s announcement read.

“The $300 billion used car marketplace has experienced little to no innovation in decades and we’re excited to lead this change. Beepi first eliminated the hassle of working with car salesmen and now we’re taking the frustration out of payments,” said Beepi co-founder and CEO Ale Resnik.

And now that the selling has subsided... and we hear nothing but crickets... those wishing to accumulate begin to realize the only way to do so is to move the market up.  He who buys first, buys best.

So what we've learned today is that the Reagan / AT&T divestiture comment was trollbait to just copy/paste the wikipedia page, and twist something that everyone with any common sense knows (that the thing didn't arise out of thin air in one second) into some kind of red herring support for a statement that didn't even make sense in the first place. I.e. turning something very nuanced and sophisticated and open to all kinds of analysis and interpretation into a Jeopardy question in order to produce irrelevant support for a pretty shit generalization in the first place.

This guy is either the biggest asshole ever, or a pretty skilled and subtle troll.

I've never seen Jorge slander or belittle anyone here.  He leaves personal attacks to those of you that keep rising to the bait.

Price between bubbles oscillates within this channel. Channel slope is about 10x/yr. So even without bubble, price should reach 6K$ by next July.
