Re: Coinbase valuation. I'm not saying the company's valuation (or those of other Bitcoin companies) is unrelated to network valuation, but I am pointing out that a 1:1 comparison ("it's way too high at 10% of BTC mcap") is naive, in my opinion. Two (so far) largely unrelated market dynamics determine the value of one and and the other, and it'll be a while before those dynamics converge enough that this argument will become useful.
How many transactions per day Coinbase is processing? Do we know that?

We could compare that number with the number of transactions of the total network and see if the ratio 1:10 holds.

Of course that wouldn't take into account the store of value feature, but we could incorporate that by putting a velocity number somewhere in the relation since it's this number which that the conceptual bridge between the two features. I think it could be a decent starting point for some BTC valuation models.

fake out or real thing? this could start a drop, hmmm

Well, the constantly microscopic volume is always a concern for BTC bulls I guess.

i wouldnt consider myself a btc bull, im a btc trader and i care about trends and price, your right though, no crazy volume yet... just wondering if its time to close that long and go the other way... hmm

this helps alot, save it as a website (html) and it gives you a four way split of bitcoinwisdom charts, top bitfinex and bitstamp and bottom is chinese exchanges okcoin and huobi

i modified the code but someone else came up with the design, you can put in any bitcoinwisdom chart

Code:

<html>

<head>

<!-- Hi there! Donate btc @ 1NSQLY2XmvhXdd2iFVa8m2UWHzNSe6eN1G :) If you rip this site please give credit, thanks! -->
<meta charset="UTF-8">

<meta name=%26quot%3Bdescription%26quot%3B content="2x2 Darkcoin Chart Layout" />
<title>BTC CHARTS</title>

<style type="text/css">

body {margin:0px; padding:0px;}

.Table {display: table; width: 100%; height: 100%;}

.Row {display: table-row; width: 100%; height: 50%;}

.Cell {display: table-cell; overflow: hidden;}

.Cell iframe {height:107%; width:118%; border: 0px;}

</style>
</head>

<body>
<div class="Table">
<div class="Row">

<div class="Cell"><iframe src="https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/bitfinex/btcusd" seamless></iframe></div>

<div class="Cell"><iframe src="https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/bitstamp/btcusd" seamless></iframe></div>

</div>

<div class="Row">

<div class="Cell"><iframe src="https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/okcoin/btccny" seamless></iframe></div>

<div class="Cell"><iframe src="https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/huobi/btccny" seamless></iframe></div>

</div>

</div>
</body>

</html>

Nice job, thanks a bunch. Good luck, g

I have no idea why everybody panics & the haters/trolls come out when we go sub 400 USD but when we get to 450 USD 'this is gentlemen'.

There has been no news good or bad to change the price too much, we'll likely go up and down between 350 - 600 USD for a while.

Suck it up & HODL like a man.

Too many reactionary fools on here lately.

Come back to me & worry or troll about the price if it's still the same in 15 years.

Patience my friends.

Well be patient. They say patience is virtue. So let the trolls continue trolling and ignore them. Just watch the market and analyze the situation.

Do you ever wonder, though, why bulls only trot out "this ain't nothing but noise" rhetoric when Bitcoin price tanks?

I think this rally is slowing down for now.  We might bounce back up to around 418 but after that we are heading back down to 340-350.

In all honesty you're one of the worst.
You seem to enjoy watching the price go down.

It all means nothing at the moment any way unless you're a day trader with 500 BTC, what does a price fall of 30-50 dollars do?

Nothing.

I'm hodling & I'll either make a shit load of money or go down with my sinking ship.

I wouldn't wipe my arse with the difference of 50 dollars or so per BTC trading unless I was dealing with an absolute monstrosity of a stash.

There should be probably another attempt of breaking 450 soon, with ~500 as a target

Yes, the dumpers will take us back to that range for sure. No way they're gonna let their coins get worth more.

I think some of the bulls are deluded idiots.

My stance is wait & see, BTC is a great, innovative, pioneering invention.
Personally I'm in it for the long haul, my advice to anybody is to keep buying, adding to their BTC stash until it becomes too expensive for them to do so.

With a bit of luck in 15-20 years it may be the best thing they ever did & if not it was worth a go, hey?

I think most of the folks in this thread are swing/day traders, some leveraged.  The changes you consider noise, to them, are bread and butter.
Hopefully, learning this saves you 15-20 years of hanging out in a thread so clearly irrelevant to you Smiley
