Whoever is operating the bot has accumulated 1750 coins already apparently and according to a redditor is throttling the purchases to prevent it moving the price upwards. We are still four days away from the auction. What does someone know? Smiley

Do you have the link of this reddit post? I can't seem to find it.

Thank you for those links, I had forgotten to check the bitcoinmarkets subreddit. I thought the person running the bot was answering some questions but I read into Inca's post too far.

Now there is a 0.501 bot buying about every 20 seconds on Bitstamp. I'm assuming the purchaser swapped exchanges due to the price difference.

Edit: Nevermind, it was just turned off Tongue

0.501 buying bot is re-activated on bitstamp. I think I remember a bot that did something very similiar a few months ago too, but not sure if it was during the last mini-bubble post-november 2013.

These types of bots happen all the time.

The BFX bot is back... but he is of the 22 cent rather than 21 cent variety now -- every seven seconds.

The 0.0501 bot is both buying and selling the same amount for almost no price difference with the buys higher than the sells for the little bit I looked at Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh

The bitfinex bot is simply accumulating to prepare for dumping once the markets goes bananas after the SR auction (expect +$450 then dump). It's a gamble though, he is assuming that all the coins will be sold (we won't ever know the price though), but most likely they will be and the market will react in a positive way.  Simple strategy. Most likely the markets will start going up before the auction is finished (anticipation).

Are you sure ? Or is it only a theory ?   However will bitcoin reach 500 $ before the end of the  year ? or must we wait the next year?

I am 100% sure (lol). No, but really it makes a lot of sense considering the circumstances. This is how you make easy money.

the only thing that makes sense is that the owner of the bot knows what he is going to bid regarding the confiscated coins on the auction - therefore it makes sense for him to accumulate for a price lower than his own bid

To me it seems like someone's trying to accumulate lots of coins with minimal slippage.

Maybe it's to provide liquidity for a Bitcoin service or maybe it's to stock up at a low price before a pump and dump.

[snip]

Still prognosticating, grampa #1?  Let me take you back in time, to your masterful prediction for last summer...

This old chestnut again?

I'll say the same as I did 6 months ago or a month ago.

We'll probably reach our old ATH by mid summer, and hit anywhere from $7000 to $12,000 before crashing down to $2000-$2500, possibly before year's end.

We should be above $10,000 for good by this time next year.

Unless something comes along to break Bitcoin before then.

Thanks for the lel.

During last 6 months Ruble fell almost over 55% to US Dollar.

Here troll, some perspective. Bitcoin is not the only thing losing value.
