Being a Hero member doesn't make you respected or your contributions valid at all. It just means you've been here over a year+. And nobody has a scammer tag anymore. They were all removed recently. Will theymos ever lower the 10BTC/50BTC donator and VIP to get those tags? Maybe 4BTC and 20BTC fairer?
It's pretty impossible for someone to achieve or pull $25,000 for a forum tag these days
He's said he won't lower them, but maybe implement lower/cheaper ranks in the future, but I don't see the point of donating just for a title. If you want to donate you still can.

Adding or removing text to/from a username is particularly likely to be accepted because it doesn't make it significantly easier for someone to scam. Your identity isn't really changed. I tend to ignore requests for complete username changes except from veteran members. (Even then, it's one of the lowest-priority requests I receive, so it can be forgotten. I have kind of a "leaky queue" for forum work -- if I don't get to a request in a couple of days, I usually drop it.)

You need 30 activity to become a Jnr Member. The next activity period starts tomorrow so you can get abother 14 points then. Perhaps the allowed signature styling should change with activity score / membergroup. Like: - Newbie: No styling (including links) allowed. Max 40 characters. - Jr. Member: Links allowed. Max 100 characters. - Member: Unlimited length. - Full: Color allowed. - Sr. Member: Size allowed - Hero: Background color allowed https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=237597.0

insert signature here Do the above. To change the colour just preview a post with your signature in, highlight it and then use the change colour drop down menu at the top right.

Yeah, it's prophesied that one day Satoshi will emerge from the block chain and save us all from the evils of Fiat once and for all. When that day comes, his forum status will change to "online" and we will all revel in the beauty of his 5 platinum coins.
