Why? 

When I was a Member, I faced the same problem though the no. of characters was limited to more than that. Try once more.

Try putting the signature code in again. Did you try before the activity updated? Remove signature and save it, then add the new signature and see if that helps.

Is there a way to work out the requirement for each account's Legendary? I thought I remembered you could calculate it based off something, but looked through the last 10 pages and can't see it.

It's between 775 Activity and 1030+. The individual account's numbers are not known, although I'm sure it's based on something on the account, maybe the number, or the hash of it, or something.

use something like the hash of UID + a salt to determine the point?

That's what I did. It just takes the first byte of the SHA-1 hash of UID+salt and adds it to 775. There aren't many users with more than 775 activity, so checking people for upgrades every 10 minutes doesn't cause any problems. I was able to do it with just one SQL statement because MySQL has a built-in SHA-1 function.

I like the idea how the amount for Donator & VIP didn't change . because 50 BTC = 50 BTC , no matter how much USD is it

Yes, it would be unfair to them to lower it. However, new lower ranks may be added in the future but I wouldn't hold your breath. You can also still donate any amount you wish at the top left of the forum next to the search if you want.

He most likely had 480 activity at one point, then deleted a whole bunch of them. The activity lowers back down to 408, but the rank will stay at Hero.
