Bitcoin is usually used by people interested in technology. I mean, persons with a certain technical knowledge are interested in bitcoin.

My observations are that way. I think Bitcoin needs to reach larger quantities. Can use bitcoin in people who are not interested in technology?
Can people use the bitcoin in the profession group like tradesmen, teachers, housewives, firemen, butchers? Are we going to see the days that these people use bitcoin?
ordinary citizens will be able to use bitcoin if bitcoin becomes a common currency. It would be very difficult to use bitcoin without the knowledge of technology. You don't understand technology, you will not understand bitcoin. bitcoin used by people in the profession group like a merchants, students, engineers ... so ordinary citizens cann't use bitcoin

I don't think you have to understand the technology of a thing to use it in your everyday life if it's convenient. How many people really know the technology behind Google, for example, yet all of them use it many times per day. It's a matter of time, I guess, until Bitcoin will be used by people who have no idea how it works, but want to use it because it works.

first there needs to be some place they can "use" bitcoin at. if we want to talk about usage. then if there is a place to use bitcoin just the way there is a place to use credit card, even if "regular citizens" don't understand the technology behind bitcoin they can use it with their phone Apps, with their third party services that make it easier and so on.
Yes ofcourse just like me. Im only a student and i dont have any job or any sideline but bitcoin is here to help me what i need which is money for my daily expenses. In school or even in our house. I dont spend my bitcoins in unnecessary things. I most prefer to save it.
That’s impressive if you are student and without any day job are able to meet your needs and demands. There is indeed no need to waste bitcoins on useless things. Keep them in wallet until and unless you don’t need them. Bitcoins are helping masses in meet their financial demands.

Of course yes. There are less people who are not interested in technology but they can used bitcoins if they really like to. They can learn to use technologies and bitcoins if they want or if they need. Some people not using bitcoins because not only they don’t know but they don’t need it for their life and they are contented on what they are using. If they really want to use bitcoins they can easily learn it because it can also access through phones. If they need to buy something online they can used it easily even they are “ordinary citizens”.
There is no limitations in bitcoin like age, gender, qualification, wealth and even citizenship. All the people are free to join it without any payment and they can participate in signature campaign, trade, investment for the sake earnings and fun regardless of any part of the world.

I really dont know yet but base on my observation with my girlfriend, she is having a hard time to understand. Maybe because of lack of passion with technology.
One of my friend too that is a lady is having a hard time to start. It seems ladies are not into it, just selected ones. With guys everyone I talk too easily sees it as a good asset when you explain the basics. So I guess the answer will be, it depends to the person you are talking to.

We cannot really push someone into using Bitcoin if they really don't have any interest in it, you and them will be having a hard time in both explaining and understanding. If your friends really don't have a good use to Bitcoin the best thing to do is to stop pursuading them as you are just wasting your time to them. If I were you I will just explain Bitcoin to people who are really interested in it.

Anyone can use bitcoin as long as they're:
1.computer literate
2.understand at least basic english language
3.knowledgeable about bitcoin or if not, at least eager to learn
4.being open minded for any possibilities to happen
5.PATIENCE

It's just my opinion. Bitcoin has no qualifications. It's just you need to consider some factors before starting off in bitcoin.

Basically speaking yes all of us can use or earn bitcoin. We know that this is the part of a technology that has unlimited upgrade each day. Also most people know about technology yes they know but the sad truth is that their state of life can't reach the techonolgy and what is going on now in the cyberworld because one reason is that financial issues they can't buy gadgets atleast basic gadgets for the need to earn bitcoins. Yes they know those gadget but they chose to focus to live their lives on the stage that atleast they are eating atleast once a day. Many of us are lucky because we have enough money for the techonology and that's the reality sometimes who is not interested in technology.

Long term, yes, but not for many many years - I'm talking decades, maybe longer. For the younger generations the idea of a digital currency makes perfect sense, they get it and they'll embrace it. Your older generations will simply not understand it and will resist it. Look at cash now, in the UK for example, I can wander around London without any cash in my pocket, it's all on contactless and chip and pin cards. If I go elsewhere though, say Burnley, that changes and I need cash (old money). You rarely see an old person paying with a contactless card though do you? Cards, chip and pin, contactless - reach of these incremental changes and improvements has taken time to be adopted by the mainstream, and still hasn't completely taken over. You can't expect Bitcoin to.

As long as they have the knowledge about bitcoin and they know when and where it should be used. But of course not all people are capable of using bitcoin because someone might use it in a bad way that no one knows.

Quote: "Can Bitcoin be used by ordinary citizens?"

YES I think it can and it is used by non-technical people. This is made possible by the companies which link Bitcoin to Debit/Credit Card, otherwise I don't think it could have.

Very unlikely bitcoin will go into masses. It has to be much much simplier. Normal people may loose their private key (need for recovery), they may store their private keys in insecure places (some people still keep PIN for their credit card in the wallet). Transactions must be fast. I think altcoin that meet these and other similar people's needs will go into masses.
Bitcoin might take a place similar to gold. No one needs and uses it, but everybody trust it's worth something.
