I wouldn't mind regular EU bank transfer, I mean, that's how all my business (and personal) things are payed for. Doesn't cost anything anyway inside EU
But takes time. And the order of assembly is going to be based on payments order. If burnin offers it as an option, next to BTC, you still have a choice, and you can decide for yourself. Also, by law it may only take 1 day for a SEPA wire transfer to arrive. I don't see the argument, it's not like it's an "or or" choice. Burnin can offer multiple options, each having its advantage/disadvantage BTC: quick, but would require for some people to convert fiat -> BTC beforehand anyway SEPA: slower, but uses regular fiat circuit, with easy invoicing Another option is also to just base the position in queue by order time, and not payment. If your position is reached, and payment hasn't arrived yet, it's simply on hold. If it has arrived, it goes through.

Hey burnin, i would like to shake your hands personally . Is there a option to drive to Hamburg for pickup the miners and pay them? But i think u need the money before u build it, right? Well i can garantee you, you will get your money for 100% :-) . And u have allready the chips, which are payed, so there would be no risk anyway Regards Sukki

It would probably be smart of Burnin to only accept either BTC or LTC. Reason being is paypal could always be reversed and I'd hate to see him get screwed by one shady person. This is why cryptocurrency is so great. Once a vendor/person has established they're trustworthy, they don't have to worry about a chargeback for numerous reasons from shady customers.

Note: I expect that future versions will be more stable due to a few changes. 341 Mhz 1.2V 57.5W - passed long term tests with 0.2% hw-errors. 409 Mhz 1.2V 68.04W - hw-errors increase to 3% 448 Mhz 1.2V 74.4W - not stable 448 Mhz 1.25V 81.6W - unstable 50% hw-errors 448 Mhz 1.28V 84.016W - unstable 50% hw-errors
Burnin when you say "future versions", are you referring to the hardware or software? I personally could wait for revised hardware that could run at a stable 448Mhz.

Some people (like me) have difficulty getting enough fiat quickly into bitcoins for the size of their order. Google checkout might be a good solution as they aren't very shady like paypal.

Great job! Thanks for the numbers. The power draw when overclocking is higher than I expected. With fixed voltage, I would assume the power draw increases linearly with clock rate. So calculating with 282Mhz@1.2V: 40W, that would be: calculated measured clock/MHz P/W P/W 282 40 341 48.4 57.5 409 58.0 68.0 448 63.5 74.4 Do you have an idea what causes the extra power consumption?

When chip gets hot it starts consuming more at the same frequency and voltage. Semiconductor basics.

Why? I am from Germany too and when he needs the money, he gets it from 1 day to another per banktransfer. I dont need paypal for that.

Please allow me to brush up your knowledge on semiconductor basics a little: The microscopic conductivity of a material, sigma, can be described in terms of the motion of electrons (or other charge carriers like holes): sigma = n*e^2*tau/m' where n = carrier concentration e = electron charge tau = relaxation time (time between collisions) m' = effective mass of the electron In semiconductors, the carrier concentration increases with temperature, due to excitations across the band gap Eg. So n is proportional to exp(-Eg/2kT). The relaxation time tau is inversely proportional to temperature. As the exponential dependence of n dominates, conductivity increases with temperature in semiconductors. The conductivity of metals however, linearly decreases with temperature. But that effect is not sufficient to explain the almost doubling of the power draw at 448MHz, compared to 282MHz - because that would imply that the chips were running twice as hot (not in Celsius, but in terms of absolute temperature K), so that would be 500+°C. For more details, please refer to Charles Kittel,"Introduction to solid state physics", or any other book on basic solid state physics. So, any more explanation attempts from your side?

Sophokles, Right, conductivity increases, so does current while voltage is constant. Thus power increases. Am I missing something?

So if we're lucky and everything goes well, we can use ~409MHz and get 45% performance increase comparing to original 282 MHz
