Hello guys,

To me, it seems pretty strange that people actually continues buying btc now...
I understood why they wanted to invest in btc before, after the Chyprus crisis, and all the articles in the media. But now?

I don't get it.

Bitcoin is useless, and will most likely never be used as a currency. I spent hours trying to get my first bitcoins (satoshi actually), and after working for ages, I only got 0.002 btc, which does not even allow me to proceed to a transaction (the fees are higherthan that amount  Roll Eyes ). When you compare it with CC or paypal, it seems that they are free to use in comparison! Not to mention the time required to actually proceed to a transaction which can be anything between 1 minute and ... 1 year (or more?).

The only possible reason I see people are buying btc is that they (truly) believe that the price will increase, and want to make more profit. I think that 99.99 % of the bitcoins exchanged are never withdrawn from the exchangers, and the people are only waiting to make some profits. What makes them believe that the price will rise? Because the amount of bitcoins is limited? Because lost coins can never be recovered? I have no clue.

An other problem is the "mining" part. Soon, the difficulty will increase, CPU and GPU mining will be useless. People will stop mining bitcoins and try LTC or something easy to get... The interest in btc will decrease.

Other issues:
- security. Not a single company was able to provide a "professional" service. Bitcoin-24 has a serious problem ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=174600.0 ). Even mtgox was critized for the lags, problems with missing coins, money, delay, and so on ... The hacks are countless (you can see new topics about that every day ...).

I can't see anything positive about btc, and still can't get why people are buying it. Can any captain obvious explains? Thanks.

The fact that the price right now is low, makes it enticing for investors. There should be a few people out there thinking that right now is the right time to buy considering that the price has a very good chance to go back up again.

bitcoin price isn't low,

bitcoin has to much attention as it created its own market, and mass media jumped in on that, altcoins have now absorbed the peoples attention enough as didnt the exchanges and the exchange infrastructure.

regards

People are invested in bitcoin in many ways.
They see good reasons to stick with it and most of them are thinking long term.
Things crash from time to time, it doesnt mean they are dead.
And besides that profit isn't the main focus for most of the old dogs of bitcoin.

Yes, btc is one of the booming through investing. Now even famous investors and entrepreneurs are promoting bitcoin or standing behind bitcoin as a solution for now and into the future. That is how famous is btc.

Bitcoins today is still profitable, the price in the market might go down but still there is a huge chance for its price to grow again because the market is volatile and we can use its volatility in order to earn more profit.

I think you should not run into the crowd and buy a bitcoin at this point, you can see that bitcoin prices are steadily decreasing in recent days and there are no signs of recovery, so Successful traders should wait to be able to buy bitcoin at the best price. The market may continue to fall and bitcoin prices will likely reach $ 6000 in the coming days.

"Bitcoin is useless"

Then go somewhere else... ?
Why?

Look up at the name of the website you are using: bitcointalk.org

If you have no use for bitcoins, then maybe you should ask yourself why you are here on a bitcoin site? Trolling perhaps?

Could you go into a bit more detail what you were spending hours on that gave you such a low return? Then you should ask yourself what you did to get any dollars you have? Maybe you could do the same thing in exchange for some bitcoins?

Many people are still buying bitcoin due to it's decreasing value and hoping that it will back to the highest price. I think they do this so that the right time comes they sell it.

People are still buying bitcoin because basically they can still earn in bitcoin and they can get a benefits. In early years yes bitcoin got decreased but the next years the bitcoin got increased again. Because of the people who believe in bitcoin, it not become dead. Hinestly, the bitcoin now is really popular and many people discover it and they use it as a source of income and investment site.

In my own points of view. People are still buying Bitcoin simply because that bitcoin is the must old and stable coin in the market. It's true that price is not stable all the time but never heard bitcoin is dying. The coin is in of the top coin in crypto. Bitcoin for me is whorth to invest. Patients will be paid by profits in the future.

OP: you are forgetting: it's fun. there's a lot of people that love the idea of an internet currency. it's very fun. that alone makes it worth something. it's rare. people still seek old baseball cards. etc, etc, think outside the box!
Maybe because they find bitcoin as a good source of profit they buy bitcoin to make some investments. And ofcourse to double or triple their investments its true it may take a long term but if its really worth the wait there is no need to rush things

because there is still a lot of hope and they strongly believe in bitcoin fluctuations. if today the price drops drastically, then there is still a chance to rise dramatically as well.

Even after many crypto crises people are still investing in bitcoin.People believe that it is the best source if income so they are still buying BTC.Moreover prices are very low so it is best time to buy new coins. One day when the prices will rise try to sell at that time to earn profit from it.People are having faith in bitcoin due to this reason people are still buying new coins. They know that if prices are low at present then defiantely in coming years it will increase. So they want to avail this opportunity without wasting any time.

On the one hand, we see a negative trend, on the other hand, it is an enormous opportunity for big investors, once the bitcoin course is restored, they will immediately be in a giant plus.Certainly, private investors should not invest the last and, especially, credit money. a risky business, calculated for a long-term perspective.

Gradually, cryptoeconomics will grow, which means that it will also be strengthened by the fact that it is serviced by crypto-currencies, crypto-active products, etc. It is not a soap bubble that suddenly "collapses" and disappears. Although, of course, the element of excitement is present.

A counter question:

Why some people are keep coming here when they don't appreciate the idea of BTC?

I understand that at the moment it's not for everyone, but it's still in "beta" and at the beginning of wider adoption.

😂 You know, some people really needs to learn about this and know the reasons why. We should learn how to be patient in cryptocurrencies, ya know. Not all the times we have to be really high, it is abnormal. 🙃

To attain true financial freedom and have control over your money, you needed a currency that allows such.

Investing in BTC isn't a useless venture. It is just a move by persons who make decisions based on current trends and its possible influence on the future.

Bitcoin is for the future.

It is the future of money.

It is never a useless investment.

I think everyone has different perceptions, different people have different preferences. Just like how some people prefer to use cash when dealing, some prefer debit cards, some credit cards and others. Each method has advantages and disadvantages, but people still use it. The same argument for bitcoin. I'm still buying bitcoin because I'm convinced that bitcoin is the best long-term investment. and bitcoin will be needed in the future.
