Why people are still buying BTC?

after 5 years experience , OP must be a bitcoin supporter , we always think why to buy at such price whenever btc pump . btc movements are like a roller coaster , high pump and high dump , then again new all time high .
reason is bitcoin is still in starting stage , many more people are yet waiting to join crypto revolution . once big players and companies will enter in block-chain world prices will be much more higher than now .

People aren't buying Bitcoin, at least compared to the amount of people selling. The people who are buying are the deluded fools who think it should be worth more and are buying more bitcoin as sellers leave the market. This is a longer term trend that has been consistent since reaching the insane price of $19,000 last December. Now we're below $7,000 and showing no signs of stopping. That's because new people aren't coming in to prop up the price. The only people buying now are those who already own it and are sitting on losses and buying to lower their cost basis under the delusion that because it reached $19,000 once, it has to again. People keep talking about Bitcoin going to the moon without realizing it already reached the moon and is now on it's way back to Earth.

Personally, I believe that bitcoin will take its own up, this technology cannot be let go on its own. Bitcoin is spoken about at high levels of the state. The States themselves create their own coins according to the principle of the blockchain. They can't just give up this technology. You have a very skeptical view of the cryptocurrency market.

People are still buying BTV now that it is in dip because they believe it will soon leave the dip era and have its rate increases sporadically,so by then they will realize a huge profit on selling it. It is just for investment

People still buy Bitcoin because we assume them to be rational and only a rational individual will invest in a crypto currency with great future profitability and return. Also the current prices of Bitcoin have gotten a bit stabilized and low so the investors can enjoy the opportunity by investing now to earn good in the future. Bitcoin is the most liquid of crypto currencies and has been in a great position that is why people like to invest in it.

People are still buying btc because they found out that only btc can make their dreams come true. BTC is now the most interesting coin in the crypto currency feild and it can really give us a huge return from our investment. I think we only need to believe in bitcoin and wait for the upcoming more opportunity of buying because if we can buy it in a verry cheap price, maybe we can become more profitable in the near future.

Yes that is a face that bitcoin still fulfill all our need and demands that i do not think can be possible from anything else, it think that people have already got a lot of profit from bitcoin investment and still in hope that they will get much more from it. i think that only bitcoin can fulfill our need in future. Those people who have invested money in bitcoin in past they have already taken a good profit from bitcoin investment, but still they are thinking that bitcoin has the potential to give them more profit in future, therefore they are still interested to invest money in bitcoin and get some more good profit.

To me, it seems pretty strange that people actually continues buying btc now...
I understood why they wanted to invest in btc before, after the Chyprus crisis, and all the articles in the media. But now?

I don't get it.


Bitcoin is useless, and will most likely never be used as a currency. I spent hours trying to get my first bitcoins (satoshi actually), and after working for ages, I only got 0.002 btc, which does not even allow me to proceed to a transaction (the fees are higherthan that amount  ). When you compare it with CC or paypal, it seems that they are free to use in comparison! Not to mention the time required to actually proceed to a transaction which can be anything between 1 minute and ... 1 year (or more?).

The only possible reason I see people are buying btc is that they (truly) believe that the price will increase, and want to make more profit. I think that 99.99 % of the bitcoins exchanged are never withdrawn from the exchangers, and the people are only waiting to make some profits. What makes them believe that the price will rise? Because the amount of bitcoins is limited? Because lost coins can never be recovered? I have no clue.


An other problem is the "mining" part. Soon, the difficulty will increase, CPU and GPU mining will be useless. People will stop mining bitcoins and try LTC or something easy to get... The interest in btc will decrease.


Other issues:
- security. Not a single company was able to provide a "professional" service. Bitcoin-24 has a serious problem ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=174600.0 ). Even mtgox was critized for the lags, problems with missing coins, money, delay, and so on ... The hacks are countless (you can see new topics about that every day ...).


I can't see anything positive about btc, and still can't get why people are buying it. Can any captain obvious explains? Thanks.

Cause bitcoin can lift the future of cryptocurrency whales, but we should check the future, but its my account so that bitcoin will be risen by more than one will give a new wallet. because they need it. they keep buying bitcoin because they see a great chance at it. maybe everyone has a principle, and different reasons when buying bitcoins. but the goal is to make a profit.

They bought bitcoin simply because they believe in bitcoin, they believe that bitcoin will pump sooner or later. Bitcoin is a promising coin that's why they buy bitcoin and then hold it for a long time, and then selling it when the price is high. That's the people strategy.

As of now, it is pretty cheap and that is the reason why the people are still buying bitcoin because they know that there is a chance for bitcoin to have huge pump in the future and that is the reason for me also to hold my bitcoins and other altcoins even though i am experiencing a huge loss because of the dips and i hope everything will go well again.

because bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are still one of the most profitable items in the world. check the prices of 2017 and 2018. you will see the profits of investors and holders. there is no such an alternative investing that gives that much returns.

They see good reasons to stick with it and most of them are thinking long term.
Things crash from time to time, it doesnt mean they are dead.
And besides that profit isn't the main focus for most of the old dogs of bitcoin.

You are totally right! People who have the passion to do and continue doing Bitcoin must have the passion and not easily believe on what other negative people think about Bitcoin. People must choose the right path to take and right campaign  to choose. People must believe that in the right time Bitcoin's value will no longer low and will be successful in the near future. Its not the end it just the beginning od Bitcoins journey.

If you have no use for bitcoins, then maybe you should ask yourself why you are here on a bitcoin site? Trolling perhaps?

Could you go into a bit more detail what you were spending hours on that gave you such a low return? Then you should ask yourself what you did to get any dollars you have? Maybe you could do the same thing in exchange for some bitcoins?

Because they used for their investment especially when bitcoin goes down in its price more investor buy bitcoon for the purpose of their future.
