I'd like to know when you are planning the linux wallet release (and to point out that the link on OP to the pre-release version of the linux wallet is broken).

Another question. Is it safe to make transactions at the moment? I have some XBYs on exchange and I'd like to put them on my computer. Maybe it's better to wait, as the genesis block was created recently?

There is a linux wallet, go to github.

I would join the slack and ask about it though. I vaguely remeber something linux users had to do to make the wallet run ok. I don't know if thats still relevent though as I'm not a linus user so didnt pay much attention.

Yes it's safe. All transactions are currently using the original chain.

Get the new wallet here https://github.com/borzalom/XtraBYtes/releases/tag/pre-v1.1.0.6-win

I haven't compiled the latest wallet, but when I compiled the last time I had some dependencies to add:

Code:
sudo apt-get install libboost-all-dev
sudo apt-get install libdb++-dev

and some changes in the src tree, provided by onnz

Code:
mkdir -p src/obj/XtraBYtes
cd src/leveldb && make libleveldb.a libmemenv.a

I would recommend to borz to add this dir to the src tree and add the make instructions for the db to the makefile.unix

good luck

People should be careful not to trade in and out of XtraBYtes cause it wont be too long till genesis block goes live and maybe a matter of weeks before the rest is put in place. People need to understand once this flies it will fly so hard even supporters will be shocked. Top 20 coin by Christmas I'm absolutley certain.

I'm a large investor so that would be great. But just to temper the mania, what makes you so sure that everything will be launched without a hiccup, and more importantly, that this deserves to be a top 20 coin? The latter requires a market cap of 400m plus at this point.

I can't understand the innovation to the coin. What sets it apart, or is it just another clone? I read a few recent posts and it sounds like people are hyping a wallet release in hopes that it gets launched on bittrex for a p&d.

If you can't understand it, you don't understand blockchain, crypto or you didnt read the ANN page. If it is one the most: its unique and more then anything: not a clone!!

I asked how's the distribution handled, nobody cared. Pff. Another premined shitcoin to make its devs rich it seems. I'll pass.

There is no Premine. Another genius investor...

The OP.explains the history of the project. If you can be bothwred to read basic info then maybe you dont deserve to own xby.

You weren't ignored, it is just no one who is online right now can answer your question. Things are slow on a Sunday.

This was posted on v1.1.0.3:

Code:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install build-essential g++ python-dev autotools-dev libicu-dev build-essential libbz2-dev libboost-all-dev libdb5.3++
in case of error.

Also, this is part of the code in the compile-win.sh file:

Code:
cd ./src/leveldb
TARGET_OS=NATIVE_WINDOWS make CC=i686-w64-mingw32.static-gcc CXX=i686-w64-mingw32.static-g++ libleveldb.a libmemenv.a
cd ../..
Is this what you are referring to?

yes.

looks like it's in the makefile.unix (at least now):

https://github.com/borzalom/XtraBYtes/blob/master/src/makefile.unix
Code:
leveldb/libleveldb.a:
@echo "Building LevelDB ..."; cd leveldb; make libleveldb.a libmemenv.a; cd ..;

so.. maybe no changes needed now?

Guess not, it should work fine (I have tried and it creates the lib files).

Hi,

Not at all and is actively discouraged. You can see the replies afterwards from community members are against such initiatives.

Thanks.

And you are?

Newbie first time posters attacking/hyping the project....no we dont support that.

I reserve the right as an individual to post on a project I think deserves to be seen by the wider crypto community. So for one thing we dont  just get a load of newbie first time posting noobs fuding and talking shit to affect the price. We should move to a moderated thread.
