I disagree with this narrative, yes Maguire has fallen down the pecking order at Manchester United but it is nothing related to his form or mistakes because Maguire has had an excellent season so far including a good performance at the worldcup too. The only reason why maguire is struggling is because Ten Hag prefers to play a left foote

Indeed, that looks like a done deal to me too. And if that is the case, then FC Bayern will get another top player as a real bargain. Of course, Laimer will have his contract sweetened with a decent hand fee. Nevertheless, he brings strong quality with him and knows how to play in the Bundesliga pretty well. I don’t understand why people are struggling to see that Maguire is not the defender he once used to be, and Ten Hag got it right by keeping him away from the playing 11. Yeah the recent isolation from the Brighton squad must have propelled this move. He's a versatile player, understands tactics, played possession football under Potter at Brighton, the guy knows the league well too. Arsenal are signing a decent ready made player. Arsenal needs more players to make this title race a fruitful one. And it seems they are keen on bringing Leandro Trossard after the lost Mykhaylo Mudryk. I hope he would respect Mikel Arteta and abide by the rules of the club after he openly showcased his dislike for Roberto De Zerbi. Players need to have good character for them to be successful in any team because skills might not be enough. Lets see how the deal will advance, maybe Chelsea might still overtake Arsenal again by signing Leandro.

I think one of the reasons for his poor performance might be because age is also catching up with him. He is 29 and some players at his age are already considering retiring because they cannot give their best any longer. It is also true that some defenders like Thiago Silva of Chelsea who is nine years older Harry Maguire are still effective. But we shouldn't forget that every player is unique. I think he should look for a less competitive club where he might play more games, which can give him more opportunities to improve. I also think moving away from Manchester United might give him more confidence because it seems he is under pressure in his current club.

It seems that Mikel Arteta has been targeting Leandro Trossard for a long time, the proof is that no other club is interested besides Arsenal and of course this rumor will become a reality in the near future. It will be funny if Tuchel replaces Conte with whom he had a conflict (during that handshake).
