On the other hand, there is a continuing effect where if Toni Kroos stays then Luka Modric has to leave Real Madrid and vice versa. I think these two senior players cannot be separated and Real Madrid should find the right middle ground so that everything goes well. We know that Toni Kroos is always the key with his passing, while Luka Modric can always be relied on with his creativity when the team is at a deadlock. So if possible, these two players should be given the same opportunity for one more season.

Modric is still an ambitious player. Even at this age he is keen on playing for as much minutes as possible. However from now on his era is coming to an end sadly.  

I don't know whether he is still planning to extend his contract. But even if he does he would accept it by knowing that he would be used as a rotation player quite often. As he has played in many games like that this season I assume he doesn't have any problem with that. I hope he doesn't decide to retire and play a little more somewhere else like many other big players.    Maybe USA, maybe Saudi Arabia or any other place he would like.
