there are several assumptions regarding Ten Hag statement, if someone who likes Ten Hag will definitely say that he is actually defending Mason Mount or praising his own player, but if someone who doesn't like Ten Hag will definitely say that Ten Hag is comparing Declan Rice with Mason Mount.
but from my personal assumption, Ten Hag has actually wanted Declan Rice since last season but who knows what happened Declan Rice still chose Arsenal and it is natural for me that a player can decide for himself which team to go to.

there have been a lot of people criticizing Ten Hag recently and in my opinion this is related to MU failure to struggle in these 2 seasons without any change and all of that is actually very normal if a team sometimes experiences failure but at least we have to be wise and don't blame any party because after all Man United related parties have struggled in various ways but if the results are still not satisfactory, maybe MU needs big changes.
